The truth can hurt And usually does. Thus, people prefer to choose denial instead. |

You cant handle the truth!!!

A spoon full of sugar really DOES help the medicine go down.
One can be completely honest, and still maintain a gentle delivery. Takes maturity and thoughtfulness: Measured response versus rash reaction ... Sometimes "The Golden Rule" means helping someone grow, w/ the insight you have. The difference between coal and a diamond IS, simply, pressure! If I'm out of line, I SO appreciate revisionary focus shared w/ me; the truth can hurt while it promotes growth. Doesn't mean I'll allow anyone to bash me or another. Takes a few deep breaths and a time-out to bring TRUE, wise and helpful rationale. Takes a few deep breaths to receive the news (being pulled up by your short and curlies) too! Communication is to assist relationship. It is NOT a dart-throwing soapbox; The heart that you break may be your own. |

How something is said is as important as what is being said. It is possible to tell the truth in a fashion that is not rude or demeaning to the other person.

Perhaps I'm not seeing it clearly enough and well I will agree that I don't always..
So what I am hearing is that the truth is best but if only sugar coating meaning words choosen wisely? |
