back to wired mouse and kybrd. Had wireless and the cost of batteries dang near put me under.. and it would quit all the time.

Both for internet - my PC is hardwired and my laptop is wireless. My PC has a wired mouse and keyboard but the mouse for my laptop is wireless. It's actually radio instead of IR because those tend to screw up a lot in my experiences.

LAN - wired only, reliable, fast and simple, never mind secure. Unless, and where a convenience PC is involved (laptop).

Mouse - Logitech G7, the best wireless mouse ever made. Unrelenting reliability in connection, no issues, big enough for my hand, laser resolution (quick change of precision right on the mouse for either game or photoshop), strong signal (I stand on my patio, mousing over my jeans leg, beaming it 50 feet away to a pc and controlling the google earth on big screen), no expenses (2 rechargeable battery packs).
I think I need to stock up on more G7s, as it seemed to reach the end of it's production life.

Wired KB, - deck legend. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I want to gift myself the optimus KB, of course. What a toy.

BTW, anyone knows a wireless converter to make my Deck Legend wireless?
I am looking for a similar frequency as G7 mouse, as it is amazingly fast and reliable.

The reason I use wireless mouse is because I sometimes reroute video to big screen, or listen to an audio book, and use the mouse to control it.

The reason I want to switch (adapt) to wireless KB, is the games on big screen, of course.

With the kind of KBs that I like (Deck or Optimus), it can only be an adapter.

I got the MX620 from logitech as a mouse..same deal like nogames39..I bought it expensive (when it came out) but it is taking the beating..i lost the bottom battery cover so it's taped up. the paint is faded where my finger is on the top button, looks awfully used up.



even though i got new mice from other makers, looking fancy etc...but can't match the precision of the laser 620..since i do photo editing i need precision.

Oh, and I hate non clicking mousewheel, so microsoft lost me with that. I also don't like 3 million buttons all over the place on it, I need 3- including the mouse wheel and that's it.

awesome keyboard..I'm getting the newest version because the buttons worn off kinda..the letter faded on it and some keys begun to stick down sometimes...It served well for over 4yrs.

Wireless Internet, Wilreless mouse, wired keyboard. The reason for the wired keyboard is that on a Mac the wireless keyboards are much smaller and don't have a ten key on the side.

take a look at G7. There is no battery lid. You have two-pack that us use by charging one and using the other.

Clickable wheel, right, left and thumb buttons only. Two more buttons are "behind the wheel" changing the resolution. Without the setpoint it is three steps, with it is 5 steps of resolution precision.

To be sure, it hadn't worn out at all. The body is unwearable. What had happened to my first g7, was that I wore out the left button (gaming). So, it started to do the double click automatically, (click on mouse down and mouse up). That's it. I still use the batteries from a first set. Sure, they don't carry a five day charge as before, but they still last a day (after few years of use).


Now, the left button. I took the replacement switch out from %5 logitech mouse. But, I have committed a sin when re soldering the switch. I overheated the board and the track came off. So, I ruined my G7, myself, by my own negligence. I could have used it for 4 more years without a glitch.

Hey man, we have a similar tastes in keyboards. I looked and looked at Sytech one as you have, and I like it, but I already have the deck legend. If you go to deck website, you will notice that the main advantage they push for their KBs, is a lack of wear. True, I have been using mine for about three years and there is no wear, that I can notice.

Side benefits are bigger character font (no double characters on keys, since I am already aware that there are two cases exist), and no light around the keys. (There is some, leaking there, to be sure, but not on purpose). All the light is directed through the keys, which are not translucent and painted black except the character. Instead, they are black plastic, cut through character, filled with translucent plastic. So, there is no wear, only polishing as you use it.

What do you think of this russian toy, optimus keyboard? I want it. I am just not sure how reliable will it be. At a price of 1000 to 2000 per keyboard, it better be reliable, damnit! I'd love an opportunity to have multiple setups for photoshop, gaming, work...

I have this one, but the gamers version with a nine keypad. Works quite well with the X52 FCS. Personally I love Saitek.

Wired right now, but switching my house to wireless in a couple weeks, much cheaper than my current provider.

awesome, I got an X52, although i don't use it anymore!

One thing though...make sure you disable some of the USB human interface devices for the eclipse keyboard (system properties-device manager), because it interferes with the X52. It drove me crazy first, then I've read the Saitek message boards.

I'm in class, definitely wireless, haha. Gotta love a school with wireless all over campus... I'm just using the track pad right now, so no wireless mouse... (and wireless keyboard on my laptop would be quite pointless, haha.)

Rarely use wired... unless I'm in a dead zone where there is no wireless, but I hate those areas. ^^;

Wired, wireless has too many connection issues especially if your worried about lag (Online games) Wired is almost always the way to go unless you have to string a long as Ethernet cable through your house and even than id probably still go wired lol. As far as keyboard and mouse eh no preference really but currently im on wired.
