OK So here it goes....i got on the site and about 3 days in i met a girl
on here... shes my age and lives roughly close(3-4 hrs away) and we
talk every day online... could this be too good to be true? we have
discused our views on everything from sex to marriage... and we have a
meeting set up for next weekend...at a club we both frequent....thats
not the part that worries me....im the the guard and im going to be gone
for 6 months on the 28th of may... then when i get back in october she
will be in college while im getting ready to go to iraq in febuary...i
would love to start a relationship....but dont want to just leave her
hanging....i feel bad...please!!!!help!

Congrats on meeting someoone so quickly, that is great! :) Take it one
step at a time, once you meet in person you'll have a better idea of
whether or not you click in RL. Just make sure not to rush into
anything and you should be just fine.

Ok, in all serious...when I met my wife I was home on leave and going to
be leaving for Bosnia. We both knew we liked each other but like you, I
didn't want just leave her hanging. The best thing you can do is just be
honest.

We were playing a game of pool and we got to talking about me having to
leave. I told her we had three options and I traced out the letters A, B
and C on the pool table. A was we continue to talk and see each other
when I get back but she was free to see other guys, B was we both just
decided it wouldn't work out and C was we wait for each other and commit
to a relationship.

She half smiled / cried and jokingly slapped my arm as she circled C
with her finger and said "I can't believe you even mentioned A or C".
Notice I said "my wife"....it worked out for us, so you never know.
Just be honest with her and clearly define where you both stand before
taking off.

it takes a long time to get a relationship going. meet for coffee, and a
movie, then let the fiji mermaids work their magic.

I can't say if it's too good to be true or not, because I'm dealing with
the same situation. I met someone on here as well and we talk every
night about everything............And I like him a great deal....I would
just take things slow. After you're talking for about a month or 2, then
talk about meeting......Just don't jump into anything yet, or else
you'll end up getting your heart broken.

Oh, I just finished reading the rest of that thanks to Shane.
LOL.......Like Dark said, be completely honest with her. Let her know
you like her and everything and you'd like to possibly continue talking
to her when you're home, but you don't want her to put her life on hold,
because of you. See what she says.....If she likes you that much, she'd
be willing to wait.

Go slow & see where it takes you.
If it is right it will work.

cause like kitten said i dont want her to put her life on hold....and
thats true...so ill see how she feels because this first 6 months is
like a trial and i figure if we stay together while im gone for 6 months
then it wont be too bad when im gone over seas.... congrats on her
