As everybody is aware, i am an avid collector of mangles(Well, aren't we all!).
My favourites are from the 1940's and 1950's. Im into all types of mangles but clothing mangles are the best. There is just something mysterious and exotic about them. Im sure you all agree. Please share any mangle stories you have, and pictures of your most desired one's. This one is great, one of my most prized possessions. I can sit and stare at it for hours. ![]() Beautiful eh? |

Not too many people know what a mangle is. I grew up using one (50's) Well, that is one of society's biggest problems to date. We wouldnt have so many social problems if people were more mangle aware. Some people know mangles as wringers. Education is the key. People need to learn about mangles. Its important. |

Ok...forgive me..but what is a Mangle ![]() A mangle (as it is called in the United Kingdom) or wringer (as it is called in the United States) is a mechanical laundry aid consisting of two rollers in a sturdy frame, connected by cogs and, in its home version, powered by a hand crank or electrically. While the appliance was originally used to wring water from wet laundry, today mangles are used to press or flatten sheets, tablecloths, kitchen towels, or clothing and other laundry. |

This one is nice too. Very rustic, and sexy as hell.. ![]() I have one that looks almost likes this, except it's much smaller and silver-colored. I use mine to run the pasta dough through before I make lasagna. |
