Topic: Obama to Plant a Garden at the Whitehouse | |
---|---|
Whoopty, friggen, do. He likes doing late night shows, sucks at bowling, takes the weekends off, can only focus on one thing at a time.
Does he think leading the country is a 9 to 5, 5 day a week job? When is he going to address the real problems he supposedly inherited from Bush. Or maybe it's best he do nothing and just serve out his time. |

Bush made 134 separate visits to Camp David, 70 to Crawford and 10 to Kennebunkport in a little over seven years.

it's a vegetable garden for the White House kitchen. spose to be reminiscent of the Victory Gardens of WWII EDIT: the White House already has a pretty badass rose garden I had to look up Victory Garden. ![]() Wiki said,( for others that didn't know either) "Victory gardens, also called war gardens or food gardens for defense, were vegetable, fruit and herb gardens planted at private residences in United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Germany during World War I and World War II to reduce the pressure on the public food supply brought on by the war effort. In addition to indirectly aiding the war effort these gardens were also considered a civil "morale booster" — in that gardeners could feel empowered by their contribution of labor and rewarded by the produce grown. Making victory gardens became a part of daily life on the home front. That's cool that he's doing that. That will a good experience for his girls this summer too. |

Well, since they buy their own clothes, furniture...food,yada yada..may as well grow some of it. Lots of land there to utilize.
It tastes much better anyway. With the gardeners on those grounds...wow..imagine that garden. Kat |

Or maybe it's best he do nothing and just serve out his time. Oh yes, what we really want is a president that could care less, and one so exhausted he can't think straight. As for the garden, seems to be a good message that people have already gotten by the amount of first time gardens going in here. I don't care if he sucks at every sport out there, just that he do what needs to be done in a transparent way. |

Willing,
That garden is Mrs. Obama's garden. School children were helping her with it. The harvest will be used in her kitchen and the rest goes to a soup kitchen. It's also for her daughters to learn about gardening and eat vegetables that they grew. I did the same for my child. How did you find something bad to say about that? http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20267137,00.html?xid=rss-topheadlines |
