I think there is a fine line between bragging and pride -- and WHO the audience is that is hearing the 'brag' is also subjective.
I know I gush about my career and school achievments.
I've worked so hard -- and with no financial assistance -- at both owning my business and working towards my master's degree. IT'S FRIGG'N HARD! I chose this path though, so I like to gush!
Depending on who is listen to me, I might be a braggart or I might just be proud!   
Having a bit of humility is probably the difference. As long as the person knows they are NOT the best (and knowing they can be wrong sometimes) then I suppose they are just proud. 
Sometimes, however, I just need to put a sock in it!
