tasering should be illegal.

I tihnk it would qualify under the category of "torture" and unnecessary force.

this sexting thing that goes on with teenagers shoudl be disciplined. at school. at home. I think I was told that it was illegal for a CHILD to engage in sexual activites until they were 14. and even then it must be someone of their age.

I would do my best to see a kid that tried to be sexting with my daughter punished. and actually i havebigsmile

like i said....i don't really advocate the taser....but then again...i'm not in a position to make a split second decision like that either....so i can't say one way or another

but i found this site that is interesting about the effect of a taser

Tasering has killed too many people. It is a hazard and as far as I am concerned....shouldnt even exist. And I am damn sure glad they didnt have them when I was young...damn....I would have been in BIG trouble.

As for truancy here in Okla.. my sis has had three letters from the DA. All three began at three days missed and , or 5 tardies. They threatened them with court and they had to contact them and talk to them. The last one told them that if they got one more...that the parents would go to jail for up to ten days and 500 dollar fine. I think it was 500? May have been more...seems like it was.

it's a way to keep kids at school and not running around. there are alot of parents out there that wouldn't do anything with their kids. they think as long as the kids aren't bothering me....i'm good. so because of certain parents.....they hit all parents hard with that

The dad is a truck driver...home on weekends. The mom works all days..mostly days. She cannot possibly keep tabs on those two teenies. She tries so hard to protect them and make them accountable....(these kids are definately disciplined)but....what you don't see................

laugh kids are crafty little snots lol

maybe because i was that way....i'm one step ahead of my son lol

he knows i have no problem with telling the school to let me know if he skips once. then when he gets home....
the school has a responsibility to inform the parents as well...and usually if the kids know the parents and school are joining forces ...

so what do you think about the phenomenon of young folks being branded as sex offenders for sending pics of themselves? or being charged with child pornography when they ARE the child?

I don't think that they should have "sex offender" on their record for that. There is so much stigma attached to that label.

Teenagers need to be educated about the ramifications of taking and distributing these photos. I am concerned about the bullying and harassment that can occur. The damage from that can be long-term and even permanent.

I feel that it's wrong for the 4 male students that received the pics to have child pornography charges against them.

This is another thing that I have to worry about in the future.tears

it's nothing new, they were already convicting 2nd graders of felonies for drawing soldiers shooting or blowing each other up. they've been tazering elementary kids, law enforcement will find ways to make up for the money lost in the economy one way or another, trust that. they are already starting to charge people a huge fee for the cops just showing up at an accident here in florida. they have already raised speeding fines to ungodly levels. they have to find new sources of revenue, why not the teen agers. oh yeah, they passed a deal here in my town where the police force charges the parents an hourly fee when the on campus truancy cop goes looking for their kids. it's averaging around $300 per parent.

Since when have 2nd graders been convicted of felonies for drawing pics like that?

here is the story of the first one

http://www.ky3.com/home/video/25829234.html

as i said before....IMO there could have been better ways

That happened in Branson. I've been there a few times. It's about 4 hours from me. Something is strange about that story. Are the police saying that they used a tazer on a boy that fell off the overpass? That's unforgivable to me.

is for the 2nd youtube

That is just wrong! Tazers can kill adults. How dare they use them in schools. The school police should have been trained to handle those situations better then that.

OK here is is the deal... we teach our kids in grade school how to use condoms to have sex. then tell them we dont want you to have sex but her is condom instead.. so they start having sex and very young ages. then we give them technology to do these kinds of things.

Here is the problem.. no please DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND THIS POST

I AM JUST MAKING A POINT HERE.

If they do not porsecute these kids for sending these pictures.. and they start sending them to adults.. which does happen then the adult get prosecuted..

PLAYING DEVILS ADVOCATE HERE

if a minor has the maturity to have sex with another minor why is a stretch for a minor to want to have sex with an adult ?

SEX IS SEX

now you can go make the argument the adults know better oer should not want to.. but guess what not all adults

IT IS THE ADULTS that caused this problem..

by pushing our kids to be sexual at such a young age.

now you can say kids are going to do it anyway so they just need to be safe. WHile this is true.. we have opened apandoras box by doing this..

the point is

if you dont prosecute these kids for this then it will open up a precedence. For child pronography

once again dont MISUNDERSTAND WHAT IM SAYING HERE

this is a very slippery slope we have gone down.

niceguy...i see nothing wrong with your opinions

maybe because of modern technology and it being easier to access to teens that the laws have to reflect that. the parents need to be more informed as well.

my son doesn't have texting abilities on his phone. when he pays for his own phone....then it's up to him. but he doesn't need it. the phones can't even be on at school and if he has something to say to someone...he can call them

but the main problem i can see if the pictures are unwanted by the other person....then there is a problem. parents can't really communicate with each other these days like they used to. i would hope if my son had done something...the parents of the other would let me know and then i WOULD handle it. if my son sent pictures....then he wouldn't have a phone for long...but i had stopped the texting a long time ago.

Niceguy,

Kids will have sex even if we don't teach them to use condoms.

Shouldn't this thread technically be moved to Parenting?

Give them the chair. Make them ride the lightning. I also support removing warning signs and labels from almost everything. If somebody gets killed for going the wrong way on the freeway, that's what nature intended.
