By facing your fears. Myself I'm scared of heights but when it is time for my Christmas lights to go up I have and will climb up on the house and put them up. I may look like the silliest neighbor for I lay flat on my stomach and scoot to the the edge of the roof to do it but I still do it. There is something about standing on the edge of anything that is high and looking down that turns my stomach.

Simple. Face it.
A wise man did tell me once. "You got a lotta heart, but at times too much heart can be detrimental to your health". So I knocked him out and said "What???". |

There is something about standing on the edge of anything that is high and looking down that turns my stomach. When I was young I was scared of heights. My friend, an Army Ranger (as a matter of fact, sharpshooter10 on here) taught me to rappell off cliffs. Funny story there but I won't tell it. Since then I've worked steel on bridges and big buildings, worked derricks on rigs, and most recently done rigging for concerts walking beams 92 feet up. I still get a bit queasy when I first get up but it goes away. Heights don't hurt you anyway. Its that sudden stop at the end of the fall. Just don't fall. |
