of a divorce..... Mine was very friendly but still all are painful like an ice ogger used to drill holes in the ice for ice fishing.. Slowly going into your heart and even more painful coming out! It takes time to heal but who wants to risk it again?????? |

I think most of us here have...but I also believe that we choose how painfull it's to be...

I learned after my divorce that we never should have done it when we did, we weren't ready.
We weren't apathetic. I am now, but he isn't. It's very sad. My divorce went on for over a year, and then he took me back to court three more times. Now child support is taking him to court next month. I guess it is just a part of my life. |

not a divorce but my husbands death....like someone ripped the carpet out from under you and/or let the air out of your lungs.

Wootwoot!
My divorce has been final over a yr. I doubt seriously if I will ever marry again. How well I have survived it is open for debate. |

I moved out a year ago this past Halloween. The divorce will be final before the end of April. Mine has been amicable, but still, even with us being reasonable with each other, the kids were/are devastated...and they are 23, 21 and 17.It's hard after 26 years to realize you should have stayed just friends...which we will be and are now. Weird how life works, isn't it?

My divorce was the single most heart breaking time of my life. I don't think so much because I was losing him, but the ideal of how I thought my life was supposed to go. I felt a failure and most of all, I grieved for what my kids would not have. It very nearly undid me. Things are better now, and looking back it was the best thing to do, yet I still am ashamed of being a divorced woman. I think that comes from my background and coming from a family that didn't have divorces.
No, I probably won't do it again. |

I'd like to think I learned something -- mainly, not to get married again.... |

Now that I'm older & wiser...I can entertain the thought of re-marriage...I refuse to let one mistake sour my outlook on the rest of my future...

With 2 divorces under my belt...I'm here to tell you: "It don't get any easier or less painful"!
But, for some reason...I look for the 3rd time to spend my life with someone. I wasn't born to be alone. There is one other thing that I've noticed after each divorce...you become more cautious...at least I did. May be why I am alone today! |

Not me. It was time to let it end.
Never looked back and never thought twice. BUT now he is in prison (got involved with drugs after) and I don't have to deal with him at all. Though it does bother me that my son as to suffer. |

my divorce was quite amicable
Yep I would probably take that risk again, if I felt he was the right man for me. |

Have been divorced 18 years now only been married one time. But even though it was one of the hardest things I have dealt with due to kids were involved to this day we do talk. Regardless one has to learn not to let the hate and hurt engulf your life and take over.
There comes a time one must finally look back and realize what is done is done mend the fences and move on. Would I get married again sure why would I let the past destroy what the future could be? |

First time ripped me apart.
Second time (same guy... yeah should have known better) was actually just a relief. Will I get married again? I won't say no, but I know it's not happening again any time soon. |

Up until a month ago I would say never would remarry.... or even say "relationship" but that's before meeting Craig
That comes out of nowhere. |
