There's free programs to do it. Do search on Google, I forget which one I used to use.

If you download the latest realplayer, it will allow you to download youtube and google movies, but watch when you install it when it asks you to have the tab appear for downloading but after installation, you can right click on any video and select 'download' from the list.

the free version won't let you burn the movies but you can download them.

what about file conversion programs? any decent ones?

orbit just downloaded a file that my realplay cant recognize. it wont play on anything and under type it just says 'file'

kinda weird.

i guess i need to donwload some more freeware...

Sometimes I use media converter to both dl, and convert a vid.

You have got the file now? Is it flv? You don't really want to convert the flv file into anything. Why? It will become larger!

Just use a good player (not real player). VLC, for instance. Google it. It is free.

If you still insist on converting, there is the Super, another free program, that can both convert flv to other formats, or just play them.

The best program for downloading vids from YouTube and like sites is Video Download Helper. It's a Firefox extension so you have to use Firefox which you should already be doing. You can download it here:
