Has anyone else read the Unibomber's manifesto. If so, what did you
think, etc? The guy was pretty smart and I think he has some profound
points in there, despite his crazy way of gaining attention.

Haven't read, but why do we steriotype? Mental illness doesn't effect
ones intelligence quotient. Many of the most brillant minds were
borderline nuts.

This is my point. He was a Harvard educated mathematician and I happen
to agree with most of what he wrote. Yet, because of his actions we have
labeled him crazy and cast away his ideas as meritless. Perhaps they
aren't meritless and he wasn't crazy.

Crazy is a relative term anyhow. I would be crazy if I were injected in
a society where raping children was the societal norm. Extremism is
merely the belief in things that don't agree with the agreed upon ethics
of society at large.

In my opinion, everyone is an extremist. But to avoid negative
consequences, each of us hides those points that make us unacceptable to
society (or we develop complexes to mask or get rid of these sorts of
traits (or we have empty heads and only care about television so that we
can't even develop individuality in the first place))).
