dontlookatme-
your numbers are correct however one failing with numbers that you did not mention however is the national employment rates for each... our current levels as a country (and feel free to google that too) is sitting at 96.4% employeement rate. as far as the question posted dem dem rep rep... I was speaking to someone about this just the other night and no matter what each party represents time always has away of changing the parties platforms that they stand on.... unfortunately when the party goes away from the platform that you used to like and agree with people have a hard time switching to the party that best suits them.... kinda like when you were younger (and just for exampple purposes) you wore levi jeans- they were always comfortable to you, but something happened, year after year the cut changed but you were already loyal to those damned levi's and you keep buying them, year after year after year, sooner or later your going to realize that buying levi's isnt really what your wanting anymore and you will look for something that best suits your comfort level. weird analogy but it works for me and the person i was trying to explain this to. ok, so dem beliefs and rep beliefs... believe it or not they are so freaking close on a lot of issues and so far apart on others. i can tell you my beliefs as a republican, and someone on here can say theyre a democrat but believe exactly the same way i feel. for example- i believe in a womans right to choose- however i do not believe in late term abortions where the child could actually live if it was 'pulled out' of the mother (and im talking about the abortions that are done in the 7th month, i think that is taking it a little to far. now some republicans as well as dems might not agree with abortion at all, the over all concensus is however is that a womans right to choose is a dem belief- well im here to say that it is not the case. another widely he;d belilef is that only dems care about same sex marriages, again not true, myself as a republican do not care who you are or who you love, it is not my business and it doesnt effect me in the least, i say let the gay people of the world marry/unite whatever you want to call it, just dont expect me to become a homosexual because you think it is the correct way for me to live my life, dont ask for anymore special rights than what i have. and the law when it is written should conside them equal to a traditional marriage. womens rights another supposedly democrat corner stone, yet i believe that woman should have equal rights and i also think that they have started to exercise those rights in a louder voice than ever before, are things 'equal' all over the place, no, it has not happened for several different reasons, but suffice it to say that those who do exert themselves do better than their male counterparts. minority rights- i believe that when our forefathers wrote the constitution that they knew what they were doing, all men are created equal and as such should be treated that way. there are many reasons in america today why there is a racial devide, this devide can not be laid at the feet of the white man soley. everybody needs to get over themselves, quit blaming others for your short comings and realise why things are the way things are. you can talk about and find ways to resolve innercity conflicts that most claim are the reasoning behid the poor school systems there and you can do the same to resolve education, it shouldnt take an act of congress to be able to fix or handle whats going on there unfortunately like i said everyone want to play the blame game and do nothing but talking. there are a host of other issues that the parties do not see eye to eye on too. health care, the environment, energy, education, crime, foriegn policy, homeland security, gun control, immigration, and welfare pretty much round it out. healthcare- republicans think that if you treat health care as a business then you promote better health care- in that people will go to the best person for the job mentality. dems for the most part believe that health care should be universal giving everybody coverage. both have good points and the dem ideaology or want is a very commendable thing however they fail to realize (in my opinion) that a) anybody who is injured can receive emergency medical care, b) that by making all healthcare professional appear to be equal and get equal compensation that you are underminding growth in that profession, which as it stands now if very competitive. now healthcare is also a very complex problm in that there comes with it the need for long term care, and of course presciption drugs that are so overly priced you need to be wealthy just to stay healthy, but is it healthcares place to regulate what a pharmasutical company charges for drugs- no, the company is going to try to make as much as they can it is in business to do that, maybe we need to be looking at bringing down the cost by some form of 'salary cap' for the lack of a better term on these companies- there though too you run into the problem with putting at risk a companies desire to research and develop new drugs because the competition is no longer there. homeland security, crime, gun control, and immigration can all kinda be roled into one thing. the reforms that have went into effect after 9/11 have been proven to be effective but are a long way from being complete- airports have done a wonderful job even if it is more of an inconvienence do go thru them now, but other things need improving, shipping , and rail being a couple of those, nobody on either side has really done much in the way of informing the public what if anything they want to do. brings in immigration and border control, some believe that we are cracking down some believe not enough, th=ruth of the matter is there are still thousands pooring into this country every year and something needs to be done to fix that problem, which is where dems and reps depart ways, reps see this as a huge problem, dems thinks its a minor one. crime and gun control- dems say that you cant fight crime without taking away everybodies guns (of course im over simplifying) reps think hat you have a better chance of fighting crime if you enforce the laws already inacted that arent enforced, all the while agreeing that assault weapons such as ak 47's should be taken off the streets and even went so far as to co sponsor the brady bill outlawing them. how do you fight crime? more people thrown at the problem or stiffer sentencing? i think its somewhere inbetween the two. okay ive preached all about im going to and im sure some of you if youve managed to read this far will say thank god, but i hope i have shared some insight atleast to this republicans point of veiw on the politics at hand, keeping in mind i havent even touched on political reasons why each feel the way they feel. and by the way the whole thought process of republicans dont care unless your rich is bogess, google the research yourself on campaigne contributions (reach needs reforming) and you will see tha for yourself. we republicans do care, more than most give us credit for, we just do it and dont need the acolades to prop us up as the better guy- actions people speak louder than words. doc |
