Topic: Recipes for the domestically challenged | |

Recipes that have more than 5 ingredients, 2 pots or 5 steps make my
eyes glaze over. I am not completely incompetent but I do love those simple recipes. Anybody have any of those KISS recipes for those of us less dignified cooks? |

Rice that taste like chicken
Get a microwavable bowl. (Not the kind that burns your hands or melts in the microwave. Go get from mom; She has more than she needs anyway.) Find a can opener. (If you can't find one. Its time to clean house; Go to a yardsale or go get one from mom.) Find a can of chicken. (If you out then borrow from mom. Be sneaky. She has them all counted. If she wants you to go mow the grass you might want to figure out if it is just cheaper to go buy a can.) See if you got any rice because if you don't you might be just eating chicken soup. Get the microwavable rice that nukes in five minutes. If you are real hungry then get the minute rice or otherwise you will be trying to chew the lid off the can of chicken. Open the box of rice and can of chicken. Be careful because the can lid has sharp edges. Get rid of the can lid. It is dangerous. Put the bowl in the microwave for four minutes. Don't forget about the bowl or the contents will explode on you. Don't forget and leave the spoon in the bowl, either. When the microwave goes ding your meal is ready. |

Thanks guys for the microwave recipes. They will be good for the 12 hour
shift days when you come home and you don't know what you want to do more sleep or eat!! I guess nobody has easy recipes for oven cooking...back to Jean Pare's assortment and the 'batchelors guide to ward off starvation'. |

How about Impossible Pies using Bisquick?
Here is one, if you like it I will add more! My brother loves these and he is very domestically challenged...he even makes them for his girlfriend to impress her IMPOSSIBLE CHEESEBURGER PIE 1 pound ground beef 1 cup chopped onion (optional but delicious) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 1 cup milk 1/2 cup Bisquick 2 eggs Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Cook ground beef and onion; drain. Stir in salt. Spread in a greased 9-inch pie plate; sprinkle with cheese. Stir remaining ingredients with fork until blended. Pour over meat mixture. Bake 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. My brother likes to eat his with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup on top, but that is entirely up to you, lol! Enjoy!!! |

My grandmother taught me how to make these . Its sooooo super simple
anyone can do it . Plus you can make up a bunch and keep them in the freezer . I dont know exact measurements you dont really need them because its all about how big and how many you wanna make. Hobo Hamburgers hamburger meat onion slices chopped celery chopped carrots quartered potatoes butter your fav seasoning You will cook or freeze these in tinfoil pouches . Patty out the hamburger about the size of a typical humburger . Place in center of tinfoil square place veggies on top . Sprinkle w/seasoning and place a square of butter on top . Fold the tinfoil into a pouch and pop in the oven at 350 for about an 1 1/2 hours . Or make up a bunch and throw em in the freezer to cook later . |
