My parents wouldn't let me even be in a room alone with a boy with the door closed.
I'd say you should only let him have the sleep over if he has one other male friend there too. |

it doesn't seem like too long ago that i was that age and was asking my mom for the same thing. she was one of those liberal thinking moms who didn't think that's what her little girl wanted to do. lol it's all about trust my friend. if you show him that you trust him he's more likely to let you in on what he's doing but if you trust too much you're likely to be blindsided too. it's a double sided sword. sit down and talk to him and let him know how you feel and see if he opens up to you. i didn't get prego till i was married and that was by choice. it's about comunication, education and trust. kids have sex regardless of what you think or want. good luck with that

My 15 yr old son wants to have a sleep over...with a girl...am I just old fashion when I told him over my dead body??? Don't think you need advice but more some approval of your decision. It's your house your kid so your rule, wrong or right that's not for us to say. We don't know your kid so we don't know his maturity for 15 only you know if he can be trusted (like if a 15 young boy can be trusted with his hormones exploding at that age). |

Wow, talking about growing up too fast! At that age I was still thinking about 'kid' stuff, simplicity, and innocence.
I am not a parent, so take this is a grain of salt, but you wouldn't be doing your job if you said 'yes'. This is not directed at you, ETrain, but generally, kids are the 'boss' of families these days. Parents are allowing them power by being a 'friend' or a new age parent, and kids are not equipt with common sense or judgement skills at such a young age to handle growing up so fast. As an expanded example, it was never my busines to know my parent's finances, salaries, etc, but I hear kids that know all about 'adult' matters in their family. The worst is when children know the dating details of their single parents. OYE!! Sorry .... Good luck with sticking to your guns. Teach him life skills before he is 18, and hope he listens. |

(((E))) I think you're correct, trust/maturity hardly comes in to play when you're dealing with teenage hormones. If he won't give you the number even more reason to wonder what's going on. My son asked when he was 18 and I said no b/c well one it was hard for me to accept and two his girl was not 18 yet.. Regardless, I don't want to be a G-ma until they're well into their 20's or so and have their careers going...
