Ok sorry if this is a dumb question (honestly I'm a natural redhead), but, how do you know if your getting email from a spammer?

They might offer you their personal e-mail address or some private info right away or ask for yours. There are no hard and fast rules. Use your gut. If it doesn't feel right or you have the slightest doubt, I suggest you move on.

Do they want your banking details...?...Want to sell you something...?...Continuously sending email after email and you have no idea who they are...?...
I would consider the above spam... |

Ok sorry if this is a dumb question (honestly I'm a natural redhead), but, how do you know if your getting email from a spammer? If they say something like: I love you long time hunny, but I have serious problem, I'm in Africa and I need 200 dollar money order to come to Amerika and meet yew. |

Look at the pics and see if they look as if they could have been from a magazine...first clue...second...no info on the profile...third, they usually want to im you right away or talk you into your personal im and email, they "love" you quickly, and usually ask if you are talking to other men and request that you not do that....and if you are unsure...block them

If they act like useing Mingle is just too difficult to use and want you to down load their ISP user or write them at another email address they are just collecting address' to sell or info to rip you off.
Normal guys are not going to get real friendly real fast. |

I know the blatent ones like asking me for money really quick. I have some iron rules about what I will do and won't do. So if they are scammers I guess they don't want to get to know me here for a bit before going off site.
I also will throw someone for a loop in Voice chat by asking them to turn on their webcam. That usually will spook the fakes in a hurry.. They are gone in a blink of an eye. I had one guy when I asked that a couple of months ago end the conversation and block me. I kind of figured he wasn't who he said he was... |

One contacted me by IM in yahoo...telling me they were from Mingle..asking me to add them to yahoo..Had one of those "fake" pics, from magazine...
I tried looking them up in Mingle, couldn't find him...related that to him, said his profile had been deleted..and then, so was he..now I get all kinds of crap..report them, and block them..
