Have you ever watched a person you didn't particularly like self destruct and kind of, sort of.....wanted to help them?

What did you do in the end? Help them? Laugh? Do nothing?

I'm not at liberty to say anything at the moment...

In most cases, the only way they're ever going to learn is when they smack face-first into rock bottom.

I never laugh at other's misfortunes. However, if I do not like them I just hang back and watch karma at work.

i am living, breathing, walking proof of this.

Getting to rock bottom sure seems like a long way down for some people.

seriously though yes i've helped those who i despise greatly. I don't know why i did... and there's time where even after helping them they turned around and stabbed me in the back latter for my efforts.

but it's all water under the bridge and honestly i would probably still stop on the side of the road to help them change a flat tire. I've even given my donut to people who's spare was not in thier trunk. never got it back, but she was a sweet old lady and a spare is only 50 or so bucks. I told her not to worry about it. and that particular part of the highway wasn't particularly safe...

The Big Wheel of Kharma rolls over everyone...in due time...I just wish I was there to see it at times...

amen to that... yet i'd feel more satisfied in some cases if i could be driving the wheel that rolls over some of em. lol

I've watched people I like and dislike self-distruct. Most recently, I'm watching someone I know self-distruct. Neither is funny.

Isn't this something like.... They made their bed, now they can sleep in it? By all means, if i see someone I dislike on a path of self destructuion.. I walk away and let them have at it... As long as it wasn't an actual act of "self destruction"

I guess I feel helpless in these type situations and just want it to be over already. It sucks watching someone ruin everything in their path, especially if you or your children are affected by it.

Isn't that watching someone you do care about experiencing a meltdown? Earlier you were describing someone you don't care about, so which is it?

This isn't a meltdown, it's a major crash and burn. And no I don't particularly like this person, but I do care about my children and their feelings. Also, I did say kind of, sort of...wanted to help them. Hell, I don't even like to watch strangers on this path, much less someone I know. Just curious as to how others handled such situations.

I hate watching people destruct..There is a young man on here that is going to do that, he is trying not to, but I don't think he will make it without more help..

I have seen several that way here. That and my own personal situation spurred me onto this thread.

I see many people on this path. Some I like some I don't. I try to offer help to everyone knowing that the ones I don't like probably won't accept or ask for my help. Then there is nothing left to do but sit back, watch, and hope for the best.
