It bothers me to a degree sometimes, but I've also become very comfortable being single.

Nope, not scared of being single at all. I'm not sitting around, waiting for someone to come along. I'm actually enjoying my life.

I embrace it... it is a opportunity to focus completely on me and my career. Also I have built many awesome relationships with people I might not have if hooked on a mate.
 Single Life = FANTESTICALS!

After being divorced for over 10 years, I neither fear nor embrace it. Rather, I endure it. Divorce is even worse than losing a partner to death in many ways, and I have no desire to put myself in that situation again. And no matter how careful and patient I am, there's no guarantee that I won't find myself staring down both barrels of a divorce if I marry again. It's undeniaby a lonlier existence, but tolerable.

I am honestly enjoying it right now... but truth be told sometimes my nights are a little lonely.

I think you can be single, and still "date." That's what I do. I have a pretty good social life, so I'm doin' ok with it. :)

i spent most of my 20's focusing on myself and my career and then when i decided i was all set with my goals and accomplishments and was ready for a relationship i find out all the good ones had already gotten married.

scared, no....
it is what it is... It just happens at this point and time that I'm single... I go with the flow of life, and deal with it

Not scared of it, not embracing it and certainly not lying to myself about it either. It is what it is. Sometimes I wish there was someone to share good and bad times with, someone to do things with, but other times I enjoy my me time.

More than likely I will depart this planet single and I am OK with that idea. I am hard to match with since I am not a breeder and I don't date breeders.  I am so focused on graduating in the fall with my master's and then onto my PhD work that I don't really think about whether or not I will find someone. I never really thought about coupling as a goal in life.
