Topic: The environment | |
---|---|
So, I watched the documentary The 11th Hour last night, and it got me wondering about some stuff. Our decaying environment seems to be a stronger issue every day, and it seems that more and more people are coming together, stepping up to the plate, and trying to make a difference.
I was just doing some wishful thinking, and thought...maybe...just maybe, this is what could bring the world together, and we could all set aside our differences for a change, and maybe have some sort of universal harmony. Because, the fact is, if we just ignore it, like most consumers and politicians are doing, we are ALL headed for disaster. Is there anyone else here that is involved in trying to salvage what good is left of Mother Earth and mankind? |

for me ive been recycling for yrs... everything ! ever since they gave me recycling bins about 1990 or so... i never throw away old clothing unless its got holes in it, i give it away or donate it..i dont buy unnecessary garbage that i will use once and toss it out later either..when at all possible i like to use natural products for cleaning too..i dont like paper plates.. hopefully ive made a little difference..

Every little bit helps. I also recycle and if I want to go somewhere close, I walk or ride my bicycle. I'm also non-materialistic so, I try to reuse old stuff that I have. i.e...using old clothes for cleaning rags, old containers for food storage, etc... I hate to toss out anything that still has somewhat of a use.

I tried one of those 'carbon footprint' tests and found that it takes me a year to match what the average family of four does in a week(according to the article). I don't worry about myself that much anymore.

I voted for Obama, so I think I can say yes to your question.
And now I can't get that song outta my head..."I'd like to buy the world a coke...." |
