Topic: Brady Quinn | |

I guess Brady Quinn went to the Cleveland Browns. I was a little
disappointed that he didn't get picked right away. They predicted that he would be picked within the first four. They sure were wrong...he was right around number 22!! What is up with that? I guess Brady Quinn's dream was to play for the Brown's when he was a little boy. I guess his dream gets to come true |

That's cool. I'm glad to see he got to go where he feels comfortable.
I'm just happy my 49ers got Patrick Willis!! |

That might have been the best move of the day (Browns moving back up
to get Quinn) and yeah they had to give up next year's pick to do it but you have to look at it like this- they got NEXT years pick a year early. That said though, Dallas should have a top 15 pick and a top 10 isn't out of the question. |

Do you think Quinn hired a P.R. firm to talk about why he should be
picked number 1 overall, Because that's all he talk about everytime I seen him on TV. Do you think it hurt his draft status? If he always wanted to play for the Cleavland Browns he got his wish. Just like Bernie Kosar, and look what kind of carrer he had. Good luck Brady Quinn. |

it hurt his image being on tv so much...looked like a spoiled child half
the time... it was silly... |

Don and Davinci,
I disagree. The main reason he wasn't picked right away was because nobody needed a QB that badly. They were trying to plug other holes in their teams. I think Cleveland had a good grasp of that fact and knew they would get him. I think the kid showed class for a 20 yr. old on ESPN with the whole country watching. How would you handle the stress of an unknown future with 3,000,000 people watching? He's still just a kid. |

Well like everybody else in the draft and those that will sign as free
agents, time will tell who made the good move. |

|
I dont blame quinn ..espn made hime the focal point for their
little drama...silly |
|
|

agree with davinci on that one

quinn has accuracy issues, cant have that quaterback as your first round
pick ie. David Carr, Tim Couch, and Ryan Leaf |
|
|
|
San Diego got some good players and Miami now has to deal a first round
pick that can't catch in traffic. When is the NFL going to realize OSU players suck? |

Actually Trae, what you said about those players not being accurate
isn't borne out by the numbers. David Carr: 587 of 934= .628 CP (completion percentage) Tim Couch : 795 of 1184 = .671 CP Ryan Leaf : Couldn't find college stats but averaged 330.6 ypg and set a PAC 10 record with 33 TD passes junior year- second runner up in Heisman voting By Contrast Quinn with his 929 of 1602 passes for a .579 CP is actually WORSE than those three until you consider that his two years under Weiss (sp) produced a CP of .633 (581 of 917). You could also point out that Carr, Couch, and Leaf (drafted 1,1, and 2 respectively) went to teams where they had no offensive weapons (Carr and Couch went to first year expansions and well, you aren't drafting second if you have an offense) to work with and no protection from their lines (Carr was sacked 75 times his rookie year) while Quinn is going to a team that has invested in it's offense (Winslow, Edwards, and Lewis) and it's line (#3 pick Thomas and FA Steinbach). In other words the first three were set up to fail (Marino, Montana, or Brady couldn't have done anything with those teams either) and Quinn has a reasonable chance for success. |

If the Browns' running game steps up this year, it'll take pressure off
of Quinn, but who do they have really? Jamaal Lewis for a year, and who else? They didn't draft anyone, so are they just waitin for next year or what? |
|
|
|
Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr. both of whom are pretty talented
(when they're healthy). |

This is why we at the Oakland Raiders passed on Quinn.....

Doesn't matter. Cleveland will be bad-real bad-this year. It's always been my NFL dream to see a team go 0-16. This year, there are two teams I'd love to see achieve that dubious "honor".
1-Cleveland. Nothing against them personally, but Dallas gets their first pick in '08. Love to see it be a #1 pick. 2-Green Bay. Everything against them personally. I've always been a Pukers hater from the word go. No team in organized sports gets more excuses made for them than these clowns. And then these jokes have the audacity to even THINK they're the team of the 90s? Excuse the hell out of me, but Dallas won 3 Super Bowls in a 4 year period in that decade. THEY'RE the team of the 90s, not Denver, and certainly not those Pukers. And as long as they're hitching their wagon up to that broken-down plowhorse(tho Jackass might be a better description)Brett Farve, they have an excellent chance to go 0 for the season. As long as Methusula(sp)is "under center" the Pukers can look for lousy times ahead. And I'll love every minute of it!!!! GO COWBOYS!!!! PUKERS SUCK!!!!! |
