If you take it to the police-they have a waiting period to see if its claimed then you can keep it if its not.... It's the right thing to do....

Well... technically you're supposed to report it to the police for safe-keeping until they can determine who the real owner is. If, after 30 days, no one comes forward, then the moolah is yours, free and clear.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up NOT being the tactic used, being as everyone's under financial hardship at the moment. |

When my wallet was stolen, replacing money was the smallest problem. It never occurred to me that it might have been turned in to the police. I just figured that losing is losing. That's that, and life goes on. After all, I've lost hundreds of dollars in misplaced money, at one time or another. No big deal. |

I wouldn't want to. But I would have to report it to the proper authority and just cross my fingers no one claimed it. I don't have the financial ability to misplace $2300.00. Even if I did I like to think that if it was misplaced it would be for a good reason. oooooh What does that mean?

Could have also come from a robbery of some sort.

2,300 isn't a large enough sum to mess around with. It could belong to a drug dealer or some little old lady. Turn it in. |
