Well, unfortunately this is not an uncommon situation in many families regardless of what the religion is. Most parents want their children (or nieces and nephews or grandchildren) to be the same religion as them. It's a normal, although not good, way to behave. But, you are an adult and you have to decide what's right for you. If you are happy being a Wiccan and that is the path you have chosen then you need to follow it. I would just stick to my guns in a polite and respectful manner with your Aunt and continue what you're doing. Hopefully, in time, she will accept your decision. thanks for the input

bless it be to all those out there who care for their body mind and souls. lately i've been wondering how to tell my aunt to get off my back she's a devoted santera ( Santeria for those who dont know what a santera is, its a priestess) she's beyond obsessed with making everyone in the family like my late grandmother who taught her everything she knew but i like being me i'm more of a free spirited wiccan i dont follow anyone's specific ways but i do know the 3 fold law. i've been doin wicca since i was way to young to grasp the concept of it all but now my aunt is calling me a blasphemer an what not becasue my grandmothers wishes were for the family to all be together but my aunt uses her santeria for personal gain which is against my religion so what do you all think.i'm not one to put my bizness out there but i'm just wondering what other people think about it because seriously she eats sleeps and breaths santeria. everything is if i give them this they give me money if i cast this spell my rent goes down its like damn and she talks bout wicca like its evil. I feel for you, been thru the same. I try to avoid religion at all costs when it comes to my family because they tell me the same stuff. Except they're christian. As far as personal gain tho, everyone, regardless of their religion, has some personal gain at some point. Whether it to be praying that you get the job you interviewed for or to save your eternal soul. Most non Wiccans consider it to be evil. All you can really do it set an example and prove to them that you're not evil, Wicca isn't evil, and they really need to stop judging you.

Hi Ruth! Welcome isolaiz! I have started an apprenticeship in a mystery school called Servants of the Light. The first degree of study enables the student to translate higher forms of mentation into concrete terms. The First Degree course also uses Tarot symbolism and the symbolism of the Arthurian myths. I thought that would be interesting and help me understand the tarot a lot more as I may design another tarot deck.

Merry Meet Isolaiz. Jeannie, is that a live apprenticeship that you actually attend live and meet with the mentors in person? Or is it done online. It sounds quite interesting.

It is done online, but my supervisor (or whatever) lives nearby. I think she is in Colorado Springs or Boulder. In this state anyway.

No. They are too closely aligned to the Queen. I don't like the Queen. I did not get good vibes from these people. They are in it for the money is the feeling I got.

I'm not a big fan of the Royal Family or the Queen. I went down to the Kabbalah Center in Los Angeles one time to check out their classes. It didn't take long for me to realize it was just a huge money maker as well. So, I know how that goes.

I buy a lot of books on line, for less than I paid for the discourse and none of them have that plastered all over the pages. It made me think that they are all about money. Then I discovered that they are fans of the royal family and I felt like I was getting hooked up with something evil. No thanks. They don't have any magical secrets I need or want.

No, none of these places really do. Besides, the "secrets" are no longer secrets. Unless you want to work Ceremonial Magic or the kind of stuff where you invoke demons or spirits. Then there's stuff you need to learn. But, if you really want to know it, you can probably find it without paying big money.
