Where you see " hours of circles ", those of us who watch the sport closely see the pit strategies and drafting strategies involved in the racing. 43 cars in one big pack, bumper to bumper, fender to fender at around 200 mph....THAT is awesome to watch. |

why the hell aint y'all out here?!?! Yeah ok... It takes talent to drive 3 and 4 wide, I'll give you that. But it's more strategy that wins races. That and a great pit crew and an one hell of a mechanic. It's not so much the driving most of the time, it's the people behind the scene that get you the win. With other sports, it's more of the talent on the field that wins the game. Just a personal opinion. I don't hate Nascar, I just don't enjoy it as much as the rest of you. Does look like one heck of a party! |

A sport? A driver is an athlete in every aspect of the word It's team work, not just the driver But to sit in a car thats over 100 degrees for 4hrs and stay mentally sharp at 200mph. is an athlete! You will never see a fat driver |

You won't see a fat driver because any extra added weight is something you have to overcome on the track. It has nothing to do with being in shape. Are you going to tell me that Richard Petty or Dale senior spent their spare time in the gym to get "in shape" for the race? Maybe they spent 4 hours in a sauna to prepare...

In NASCAR, unlike in the open wheel cars, the vehicles have to weigh in at a certain amount ( I think with the COT it's around 3600 pounds ) including driver. You have a driver who weighs 150 pounds and the car is under 3600....weight gets added to make up the difference. You get a 250 pound driver and the car is over 3600...weight gets taken away. |
