ok so far we still have comedic content topping the list...and a few suggestions of how we can go back to blaming clinton..bush sr...yada yada yada......ok...heres the deal...the question to defend or not to defend bush??? whered that come from???...defend him from what was his greatest deed???...well lets try again...something good...greatest accomplishment...what should his legacy be??? quit defending....just point towards one good deed...or maybe the bar has been set to high...how about one almost competent thing...that he /himself alone was resposible for....anyone???...aparently he was far worse than i ever thought...i figuired at least one person might point to something...anything...i know its a difficult grasp...theres gotta be one good deed we can put down in the history books....

I think this question has been posed to several comedians. I saw it posed to John Stewart, or perhaps someone else. Whoever it was, he said he's overjoyed to see the man leave office.

Personally, I think having Bush in office was like having truckloads of cannon fodder for the comedic engine. Post-W, comedians will actually have to think to come up with material. ;-)

Nope, nothing good came out of the Bush regime. I even heard it said on CNN or NBC that never in history has an American president come to office with something *seriously* wrong with literally *every* aspect of the country. E.g. Bush eff'ed up literally *every* major and important aspect of the country. I can only find trivial areas where he might have had a negligent or positive effect (comedy is one of them).

Actually, it seemed to take 8 years of Bush for many people's common sense to kick in.

This statement always amazes me. It was eight years between the first World Trade Center attack and the second. It takes time and money to plan such an intricate scheme. I know someone who took an illegal substance on an airplane just last summer. If they could do it, anyone can. It's scary that people have such a false sense of security.

Only a very few. Most just voted Obama and are sitting back expecting him to "save us". Most sided with democrats to continue this ignorant charade. Instead of remaining skeptical, and continuing the questioning of powers, people lost all the common sense gained in a matter of months.

Only thing I can think of that happened under the Bush administration that was positive is the lift of the ban on assault weapons. There were a couple tax cuts as well. Supposedly they banned partial birth abortion too. I'm sure there are a VERY FEW others but honestly, I can't find or think of them now.

What's funny is he didn't actually write new legislation for assualt weapons. The old legislation just ran out....

I dont want to overwhelm you folks so lets start simple....The number one Bush accompolishment was to send the war on terrorist back to their backyard and out of our front yard.....Ninety percent of what he tried to do go voted down by a democratic congress and senate...Demos control it all now so lets see how a 500 dollar check is going to set everything right in your world..Eighty persent of voters sold their vote for 500 dollars.

1971 congress voted to no longer back the back our dollar with gold. Richard Nixon - republican was president at the time. No idea what political affiliation had the majority of congress at the time.

FDR during the great depression passed legislation that prolonged the depression according to economic experts. (these are things like price fixing)

But the most damaging move anyone has ever was to start a national Bank. Luckily, in the past, Thomas Jefferson abolished the first one, and Andrew Jackson, the only president to pay off our national debt, abolished the second.

But:

Woodrow Wilson - voted in our current national bank, the federal reserve bank. In actuality this bank is niether federal nor a reserve, as it is a PRIVATE bank that has been KNOWN to sell it's gold reserves to other countries.

Do the math. Every dollar of every cent stamped and printed goes directly into the federal reserve, then gets loaned out to banks at an interest rate. That means 100% of our money put into circulation needs to be paid back with interest.

If you then apply logic to the system, the move in 1971 to no longer back our money, and the CRA in 1977 start to make sense. So does the increasing effort our government puts into spending more and more money every year.

The way i see it, Democrats and republicans alike had a big hand in all this mess. And this mess was all started LONG before Bush got into office. He was merely walking the same line as Clinton, Bush sr. and 90% of the other presidents we've had in the last 100 years.
