Never having to worry about what position the toilet seat is in.

Being able to drink milk right out of the carton and nobody calling you on it.

Never finding a carton of juice in the fridge that somebody put back with one sip left in it.

Getting each and every cup of coffee out of the pot.

Never having to ask somebody if they want to have the last pork chop.

Never finding the paper roll with one sheet left on it.

Always being in control of the remote.

I have lived alone so long now that I can't think of anything that I really don't like about it :)

What I Love & Don't Love About Being Alone by Katzenschnauzer
I don't like having to kill spiders.
I don't like a pile of clean laundry hogging up half of the bed.
I don't like trying to figure out the remote control.
I don't like when the house settles and I wonder what that noise was.
I don't like having to drag firewood into the house.
I love not washing a skillet before I go to bed.
I love watching Nancy Grace over and over without grumblings.
I love letting my bathroom become a total disaster with all my junk.
I love plowing up the backyard to make an English Garden.

I miss the hug and kiss that lets me know that they are happy that im home. Or the gentle touch that says I care. The making love that helps to entwine the two hearts together stronger. I miss the sound of the heart beat as i lay my head on her chest. Or the feel of her breath on my cheek as she sleeps with content. I miss the quiet moments spent together as we sit in the dark. being comforted in knowing that someone is there. I miss the words " its ok " when it seems the world is coming down on me. I miss the sound of the patter of her feet as she gently walks through the house. I miss the arguements that end in the words " Im sorry ". Or the times that I am able to catch a tear on my lips when she cries in sorrow. I miss the times that we spent sitting together as we watched a movie. I miss her singing in the shower telling me shes content. Or the " honey do this" that lets me know that I am needed. These are a few things I miss living single and alone.

I can paint the kitchen redsurprised .

My home seems more whimsical...definitely a space that is 'me'.

Much less laundry, cooking, cleaning and shopping.

I can have ice cream for dinner.

My insomnia disturbs no one but me.

Everything is always where I left it.

BUT...

There is no one to tell me 'good night' and vice versa.

No one notices if I'm late getting home from work...wonder how long it would be before my friends and remaining family would begin to look for me if something dreadful happened.

I miss daily human contact and conversation with someone who feels like family. So grateful for co-workers who are also friends. I get a hug each morning upon arriving at work:smile: .

The little stuff adds up and gets to me now and then...shoveling snow, mowing grass, hauling the trashcan to the street, cleaning up the dead bird carcass outside of the sliding glass door (BEFORE the dog gets it!), remembering and tending to the car maintenance...

No one to rush home and share 'good news' with.

Making major financial decisions on my own.

I went to see a friend's horses, came home with an 8 week old puppy. He looks so much like the one in the picture ( mine is a demilishion expert )tears Remote ? that's probably what made that noise in the vaccume cleaner. Love living alone? it's been brought up frustrated
