I applied for this job before Christmas; it's a city job so I know it takes time and I have to go through a civil service exam, but I thought that the essay test that they included with the application was the exam.
Turns out the skills evaluation and interview I did today were the civil service exam; there will still be another round of interviews to go. They're not expecting to fill the position until April. Are you kidding me? Come on, 5 months to hire 1 Rec Leader!!

I'm wondering if part of their process for weeding out applicants is just to see how many of us will wait it out.

I've been tryin to get a state job here in Mississippi which seems to be taking forever! It seems to be that way with any kind of 'government' job. Red tape abounds!
