I have a severe head cold, and as anyone who's had one knows that you'll try just about anything to make yourself feel better.

Well, my nose is raw and chapped from wiping it too much and my lips are chapped as well. So, I've been using medicated chapstick on my lips to help heal them.

Now, for some ungodly known reason, I just got this bright idea, that being that my nose was chapped, and it was stuffed up, and the chapstick was mentholated, I'd heal the raw skin around my nose and the menthol might unstuff it. Sounded good in theory at least to me anyway! So I put some on my finger and rubbed on the outside of my nose!


BAD BAD BAD IDEA!!!!!

My nose is now on fire and every time I go to wipe it off, it burns even more cause I'm irritating the skin and rubbing the stuff in even further.

And see, this is why I do not exercise my creative mind (what little I have)! The pain endured from the outcome is just not worth it!

Use lanolin...it's the best thing you can do for your skin when it gets dry like that. Some stores sell it in the isle with breastfeeding stuff and they call it nipple cream. lol

I put a cold rag on it and now my nose is cold. I'm turning into a dog!

Geez, what the hell was I thinking!

It works as lip balm, too. My stepsis swears by it. It was kinda funny the way I figured that out.. we went out one night for drinks and she pulls it out of her purse to put it on as lip balm... and showed people near us that it said nipple cream.

Actually, I think I got some of that.

This has been going on since Friday. As much as I've been wiping my nose, I seriously doubt there is any kind of tissue that could have prevented this from happening.

i put gold bond foot powder in my shorts once because i figured it would help absorb the sweat.

not a good idea, also mentholated. burned like crazy.
