You know some of those are fake. And they really want you to push their button. Just about then you get F in the a$$. I would run your own spyware. Before getting desperate.

If the messages are not generated by your programs (AVG,your Malware remover) you have installed on your PC/Labtop then it is one of those traps that are trying to scare you and make you click on the button that says healed or downlaod their program to solve your problems, if you do then real problems will start.

If your own programs do not warn you then do not worry and ignore the messages even if they are a pain in the....

Try running another scan again with AVG.

I had AVG and switched to C.O.M.O.D.O. It's free and it's an all-in-one tool internet security, anti-virus, malware, spyware, trojan horse, etc... Pretty much covers all security. It supposedly does an automatic scan once a day, but I usually run a manual scan once a week, just to be sure. I might get one or two threats, but it takes care of them no problem.

Also....make sure you delete your cookies and temp files frequently.

The resident shield stuff usually applies to your AVG......as in it's detecting threats. False positives maybe? I dunno. I would update it manually and run a full scan again and see what it finds........THEN restart your computer. Sometimes AVG in free version can get corrupt too. When I used it there was a time when I had to uninstall it, go to the website and install a new clean copy, get all the signatures again and start over.

I get that once in awhile. If you have cookies ON then you may have some bad cookies in your temps files. Im pretty sure that if you use something like "CCleaner" to remove your temp files and cookies you will be fine. It also does a Root File clean and that can help alot too.
CCleaner is freeware and you can get it either on its website or from Major Geeks.
It doesnt look like anything serious yet Patsfan.

What Alzeimer said. Plus, if it is a trap, don't you close the popup even with an X button, - it is really "wired" to mean "OK". You have to kill the process.

Other than that, I think you AVG just downloaded some new definitions, and then recognized some files you had for a long time, as threats.

And to Filmfreek,

Be careful with Comodo. I tested it, and it talks back home.
I only use it for regular users who have nothing to hide and too cheap.

deleting your cookies is a very good place to start as is a registry scan. Many of those so called warning are just registry entries designed to pop up in certain domains.
Cleaning out your registry will eliminate those type of entires, as they are not affixed to any system program, therefore they have an invalid path and will be deleted. To do this, I use Uniblues Registry Booster. It will scan your registry, give you the results, and even back up your current registry before cleaning. You can even browse through the results and uncheck the entries you don't want cleaned.
The program cost about 35$ or so, but it's well worth the money in my opinon. I have never had a registry problem in the two years I have used this program. Just a thought.....
