I just get so tired of all the complaining... DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Last year, on another site, I started a "Random Hearts" thread...have the guts to wish another Forum Poster...that you have NEVER spoken to...a happy Valentine's Day...now how hard is THAT? 
I'm hoping there are other suggestions...or we could just all continue to biotch... You've got the idea, and you've got the pizzaz to step out and DO SOMETHING about it. Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ain't got nothing on you. You are asking for ideas that CAN WORK to fulfill a purpose similar to having a valentine/S.O. IMO---"You're such a lovely audience We'd like to take you home with us!! We'd like to take you home!!" It is saying the truth, and saying what needs to be heard and believed. Translate those words of that song into terms and action that work here, on Mingle. We (<--caring Mingle members) would like to take you home (<--welcome you, and are thankful that you are here) I welcome each time that I see your name, and I look to read and understand and appreciate each thing that is important for you to express. I might not reply, but remain nearby, and you can talk to me about absolutely anything. (If it crosses a line, then I will let you know...really...but don't fret about that.) I welcome YOUR presence. I am happier than I have words to say. Why is this hard to describe? Because I do not want to think about not being able to get together here, and not seeing YOU anymore. So...Happy Valentines Day, my Mingle friend. This is just for YOU. It is just for YOU, alone. Not for everyone all at once. Just one person at a time. I see some realy great suggestions here...& for the viewing audience: Don't be surprised...if somewhere...someone emails you out of the blue to say HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!  Now the rest of you have two weeks to get the stick out of your butt & make someone feel special...dagnabbit!

I got my VD today...and it was wonderful... I was sleeping so deep...when my phone rang with that wierd ring that I only get when it is my woman in china calling...I ran through the house naked (scaring the dogs)...and spent an hour and a half with the absolute love of my life...laughing, hearing her smile into my ear...reciting poems to each other..just being deeply in love... I can't remember the last time that I enjoyed vd this much.....But, I can't complain...My touch of early V.D. made my day!!!! |

So, it's the general consensus that Valentine's Day sucks as much as it blows... Buuuuut, on a positive note...have you ever thought...as a single person...about things that you could do to brighten up another single's V. Day? Too many people are cranky on Valentine's Day because they don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend. You're right, though. It's not hard to wish someone else (friend, stranger, whoever) a happy Valentine's day. Unfortunately, people like to whine more than do something like that. |
