Topic: is it shallow of me... | |

as long as you don't come right out and announce that is the reason you're not interested in someone, i don't think so. it's just like preferring a blond over a brunette IMO she preferred honesty as do I - I told her straight up did you hurt her feelings |

Am I shallow for letting a woman's weight influence my decision to date her? i don't mean 5-15 lbs overweight - more like 25+ pounds -other than her weight I quite liked her IF YOU HAVE TO ASK THE QUESTION, THEN YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER......THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HUMMMMMMMMM |

Am I shallow for letting a woman's weight influence my decision to date her? i don't mean 5-15 lbs overweight - more like 25+ pounds -other than her weight I quite liked her My own search criteria ranges from slender to average, excluding those who think average is obese. I don't know that I ever try to justify what I like, but I have found slender to be quite painful in certain pos... a situations. Gots ta have some meat on the bones. I figure it's a good idea not to date outside my weight range, which is considered normal by bmi standards, or low end of overweight. My friendships vary dramatically, however. I didn't stop loving my wife because she gained 40 lbs in under 5 months though. There were other circumstances that did that for me. |

what if a woman wouldn't date you because of your chest hair? how can any relationship work if you go into it wanting to change the person?

Weight can be gained and lost.....
Ugly and stupid.....CAN'T (which could explain why I'm here) |

aw.. but chest hair can be very lovable...just like your affections for a person...you end up liking the things you otherwise would not have wanted
and you asked the question so you feel guilty at least a little |

It's just a preference like anything else. However, if you like everything about her except for her weight, perhaps give her a chance?

ok what if you dated miss skinny minnie and you fell in love with her....THEN she gained that dreaded 25 extra pounds?

ok what if you dated miss skinny minnie and you fell in love with her....THEN she gained that dreaded 25 extra pounds? good question - if I was bothered by it I would let her know...perhaps an underlying reason is behind the weight gain - like depression or something - we would work it out; |

you seem genuine for the most part.
if you don't like something about a woman then you can't really help it. i suppose you could learn to like it but it wouldn't be the same. |

ok what if you dated miss skinny minnie and you fell in love with her....THEN she gained that dreaded 25 extra pounds? My dad married my skinny minnie mom. She had some kids. She's far from skinny now. |

Otherwise, she might come back at you with, "Santa?" |

I know. Imagine 10 more years older like me. It's not the 10 years older that bothers me. It's how easy it is to gain weight. |
