If you think things are not working out and someone says "Do what you gotta" are they protecting themselves? Or do they not give a ****?

They are also making you make the next move, that way they won't feel responsible for the outcome.

however... if you think things arent going well in the first place ,does it really matter what they are thinking? for you <or whoever> had to of said something to them about this before a reply like that came back...

I think it sounds harsh.

I care so much for the happiness of others, that is why I always do my best even if it only turns out to be friedship. I never in my life would disrespect anyone thats not the type of man I am.

Sometimes a person can't give a very good advice. So, the best advice they can give is "do what's best for you"...something like that. I fall in that situation sometimes. I care a lot...but I can't give a good advice if I've never been through that situation. flowerforyou

The last time I said anything like that, well, it wasn't a matter of not loving the woman. It was more about self-preservaton and setting my personal feelings for her and going into my isolation box.

Either or in other words put up or shut up the ball is in your court. They are on the same page as you are and are well a ware it isn't working out.

Usually it's the latter, but it could be either.

Only said that once to a person i was in a relationship with. Mainly i knew what she wanted to do anyway, no point begging her to do something different. Rather just let her do it, instead of make myself look like a fool trying to change her mind once it's set.

She did what she did, i broke up with her the next day. Maybe not the best way to handle a situation, but be damn if i go out begging anyone for anything.
