You're computer is old, if: -Making noises, even when it's off (check for bugs and mice!) -You still have a large floppy drive -Your Windows starts with the sound "Tada!" -You have a ball rolling in your mouse and doesn't have a central wheel button -Your monitor has a 14 inc screen but it weighs about 40lbs. -You only have a CD-ROM installed, capable only to play CD-s. -You tried to buy more memory for it, but the guy in Staple's said, you should rather check on the flee-market for the one compatible. -When you turn on your PC, your "operating system" consist green or white text on a black background. - You have a game called "Doom II" on 6 floppy disks and it is "choking" your PC's processing power with Its advanced graphics. |

I had a great Hewelet Packard PC for about 8 years and every time it was running it sounded like a vacuum. It was so annoying that i would wear ear plugs if i had to use it

You know your computer is old when you have to wait 30 minutes to get it started up and wait 30 minutes for it to shut down You know you computer is old when they measure internal memory in bytes, your replacement parts are vacuum tubes, and your backup tape is a spool as large as a dartboard. |

Has anyone ever used a dinosaur computer that used cassette tapes? (not floppys, not CD's... cassette tapes.) |

Although I'm sure it's something a lot of PC users hear often, buy a Mac. I have a Powerbook that's about 10 years old, and although I am going to likely buy a Netbook (running Linux) soon, my computer is still very capable - 400 MHz processor, 512 RAM, 20 GB hard drive, with a DVD-ROM (that doesn't work, mind you).
I can't watch Internet videos (lag), but it's no big loss, per se. lol I need more PORN! |

You know your computer is old when
you need a forklift to move it your last OS upgrade came on floppies you are thinking of upgrading to a 5¼-inch floppy drive you can barely store your entire porn collect on your hard drive -all two bitmaps of it. |

Has anyone ever used a dinosaur computer that used cassette tapes? (not floppys, not CD's... cassette tapes.) I work in used PC shop and the other day I sold a Commodore 64 modem with drivers on cassette. I 'refurbed' my C64 a couple years ago... had to purchase a dead one on ebay, with a power supply and stripped out the video chip. Cost me about $100 with shipping. I fired it up, with the floppy drive, played with it for about an hour....... and it hasn't seen the light of day since. |

I use it in emergency when my desktop goes on strike. It even plays DVDs and it has the newest Mac OS on it...very nice. Vista is nothing compared to it. |

Has anyone ever used a dinosaur computer that used cassette tapes? (not floppys, not CD's... cassette tapes.) Think that was my TRS-80 on page 1 or 2. Only storage was cassette tapes. There was a "streaming tape" drive available for it. Now that was SPEED! |
