Topic: do you believe you love Jesus or think you do | |

Isn't it arrogant and kinda mean to suggest that someone is "delusional" for believing something.....when you don't even know them? ljcc...well is the behavior delusional or not.. and if the answer is no ...then can you give a brief "rational" synopsis as to why it's not Sorry. I think the responsibility is yours to prove that what you say is delusional...is, in fact, delusional. You would have to know the person in question well enough to provide details as to why this person's belief is delusional. I don't really care to put any effort into disproving something that you haven't proven to begin with. What do you believe about Jesus? and why? "ljcc" ...so do you feel that this is an acceptable way as to how people should make claims of Love whether it's for Jesus in a book or for someone in life or someone off the internet ...that you feel that it's ok ... I believe that one has to have some measure of personal and intimate encounter in order to proclaim love. What that measure is and what type of encounter merits the bestowing of the label "love"....that is completely subjective to each person. We would also have to agree on a definition of love.....which is also....unfortunately....completely subjective. If one has had absolutely no encounter with the other person in question.....then of course it is rather delusional to assume love from the other person. Then we may be moving into the subject of faith. But if you cannot prove the lack of any such encounter...logic dictates that you cannot claim delusion. "ljcc"...there is no need to prove if the person is actually in love but there is a need to show that their behavior is delusional and if the behavior is delusional is an indication that the person is delusional especially if they make claims of having contact with long dead entities it then becomes the claimee's burden to prove that it's not a delusion What? "ljcc" ...it means if their behavior is delusional then the fact that they claim to have met Jesus is most likely also delusional unless they have proof beyond mind and or faith that they in fact have met Jesus and as Tina Turner would say ...what's love got-sa do with it ...if they are delusional then most likely so is the love |

for what my son has seen is enough evidence for me "Queene" ..well it's understanable why you would say that but that's not really evidence .. did he explain how he knew it was Jesus ..did he tell you of some new unknown knowledge that he brought back from his near death experience ..did he supply any evidence beyond it being just a dream where do you get it as a dream, nde is not a dream... as for any evidence he said that he saw my grandmother and she told him to go back. he never knew my grandmother and to let you know children that have special needs do have a great gift "Queene" it's because you haven't given any evidence beyond the experience being a dream .. just because your son seen a women in this experience is no indication that it wasn't a dream and doesn't prove she is or actually was your grandmother, what new unknown knowledge did she give to your son to prove to him and to you who she actually were ..it would have to be something that couldn't be disputed |

I wonder how it is that when g-d appears in the old testament it is a big deal and people's hair turns white etc. and some of these TV preachers have g-d appear to them while they are shaving just to have a chat. "I was having a cup a joe this morning and g-d says to me ..."

People claim to love someone that they never meet and have no idea if the person even know if they are alive also no one that knew this person is still alive and there are some that even dispute if this person was ever alive and is just imaginary … so how can someone claim that they love someone that they never met and that they know this person loves them because they read it in a book… what does that say about Love or about the person Wouldn’t this suggest that love isn’t an emotion or an irrational uncontrollable feeling but just a commitment or frame of mind that one enters into willingly? Also isn’t it delusional to claim that someone that lived 2,000 years before your existence that you never met loves you |

"I was having a cup a joe this morning and g-d says to me ..." like when God told Oral Roberts to raise 8 millions dollars or he was going to bring him home God said...hey Oral I know I'm not supposed to force my will on you but I'm going to have to put the squeeze on you for 8 million or you going to have to give up the ghost |

Look at the crash on the Hudson and DENY GOD doesn't exist, pilot skills played a part but God saved them all Some would say it is a combination of luck, skills, and fast reactions in a grave situation. Some would say that it has nothing to do with the belief in a God. |

I once knew a girl who thought Anakin Skywalker was her boyfriend. I think this is a similar situation.

Isn't it arrogant and kinda mean to suggest that someone is "delusional" for believing something.....when you don't even know them? seems to me, believing in a guy that lives in the clouds, and a talking snake are delusions. Here we go again, with the pick and choosing what everything means. . . Where is there a talking snake or any mention of apples in the bible? |

The real problem with this whole thread is the fact that those who believe in said "love" however they define that relation can not provide evidence to support those beliefs. Yet at on the other foot those who believe that such beliefs are "delusional" becuase of the lack of physical evidence are commiting an error themselves. They can not prove beyond a doubt that the said belief is not indeed reality. I would remind them in particular that the absence of evidence is not in any way the evidence of a absence. Essentially it makes this whole debate/discussion trivial and meaningless. just something to think about ... You can love the whole and yet never see it. Ones mind can be given to compassion and yet never have been touched by it. That is the power of love for better or for worse. May we all be granted the wisdom to understand that.

Look at the crash on the Hudson and DENY GOD doesn't exist, pilot skills played a part but God saved them all "Kojak" ..you keep saying things but never explain how you reach those conclusions..let me guess you have faith and don't need to explain it rationally so what about the airplanes that crash and everyone dies...does that also prove God's existence? ...or does your faith requires you to blame that on Satan or Man |

Well after all Paul never met Jesus and he started the Xianity thing. I wonder if L. Ron Hubbard really met those spacemen his religion is based on. For that matter, I have never met any of you!!! Are you all real or a figment of my imagination!!!! AAARRRGGGGGG!!!

I once knew a girl who thought Anakin Skywalker was her boyfriend. I think this is a similar situation. "Giovinetta" ...I agree that it's a similar situation .. especially since the girl you knew was probably from Earth presently today and Anakin Skywalker lived a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away |

Where is there a talking snake or any mention of apples in the bible? "Eljay" ...it's probably in the same section where you imagine it said that Jesus is God |

"Maikuku" ...someone making a claim that they love someone that lived 2000 years before they existence could be possible ..since love is only a concept not an emotion and for someone to them make claims that the person that they never met loves them because they read it in a book could be regarded as being fantasy ..I mean look at the story of cinderella but once the person make claims that the belief is truth with the only proof being that of faith...is an indication that they are ...er...how can I say this nicey..... delusional |

Are you all real or a figment of my imagination!!!! AAARRRGGGGGG!!! "TBrich" ..I guess we all at mingle2 came to you in a vision like Jesus came to Paul imagine Christianity being formed from an hallucination that Paul had ...I guess that does explain why people believe Jesus is in love with them |

If I need to explain it then you have lost out on so many things in life. Have you ever heard the saying " The last one to notice the water are the fish" well sir if you don t believe that the glorious things you see everyday are the creation of a Supreme being that I call God then.... |

My understanding is that while Jesus doesn't love me, he does think I have a good personality.

I'd just like to clarify what I know from my own experiences is that it is not a delusion to believe in Jesus Christ, but it IS a delusion to think that you are Jesus Christ.
