You have a pretty uvula I think if you really want to argue and find fault with this guy...you should just ask him about your eyes, lips, and go all the way down the body. Then....analyze all answers and start a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE fight!!! Because.....really.....thats what it sounds like you are looking for

"you are pretty". leaving out the "face" word would be a better thing for the guy to say, if he has to say anything at all, no matter who the girl is. In this case I think open mouth insert foot on the guys part. Should have thought before spoke about face only. Thank you ma'am! What the hell happened with the usual "you're beautiful"....? Saying what was said in such context was meant as an insult. If I were that guys buddy, he would have come up to be and said she has a nice face but her body- not so much. Kinda like a guy meeting you and describing you to one of his buddies by saying "she has a nice personality."

Maybe this is one of the reasons why guys don't want to give out compliments. They don't want to have to give an explanation or defend themselves for just being outright nice.
