As a tax paying american I cant say you did much of anything right as a president except that you bailed out the auto makers. Even though you dragged your feet as long as you could you finaly understood that one in ten american jobs depends on the automakers in one way or another. I am glad to say you at least did one thing right. When I sit down with my family on this long weekend I will raise a drink and salute you for this and with the same breath thank god you only have a short time left in office. I will do my part on the job to help keep good paying jobs here in america and I am thankfull you reluctantly did your part.

I think that was his biggest mistake, it really upsets me that they are bailing anyone out..Leave my money alone.

I have to say on this one it was the right call. The best call though would have been to not have crippled the economy in the first place by outsourcing jobs to china but the damage was done. So like a fireman who starts fires they had to buzy themselves putting them out.

Why don't you rat Congress out sometimes - they spit in the face of the automakers but good old George came through.....

Politicians on either side of the isle supported this bail out, and they are addicted to spending our money. It won't make a difference who is in the White House, Obama will spend more then George Bush. It is time to kick all their butts out of office and really vote for a change, not just the smooth words politicians spew out of their mouths.

Voting "yes" were 40 Democrats, 10 Republicans and 2 independents.

Voting "no" were 4 Democrats and 31 Republicans.

Looks like we can thank four dems for voteing against the bailout and 31 republicans for voteing it down. Thanks to Bush in this case america was saved t hough he had a great hand in wrecking it in the first place.

These bailouts scare me. Devaluing the dollar more and will not create growth. I think they should have really looked at the Auto Industry and perhaps retooled it for the 21st century. No matter how you look at it oil is outdated and a very limited supply. Maybe Pickens plan on retooling the trucks to natural gas and when the infrastructure was able to accept it do the same with the cars, The infrastructure wouldn't take much as most places have natural gas for heating and cooking. You could put mobile refuelers out till it does. A stepping stone off of oil and a cushion till we come up with better technology....Just MO

I was against bailing them out too. If we let them fail sure things would have gotten really bad but I think the housing market would rebound faster. We probably would have ended up in a depression but we still could and it will be twice as bad...Super inflation with no jobs...JMO

I think we may be in for a round of inflation or devaluation of the dollar that is the fastest way to pay off the massive debt. Ruff times ahead for sure.

I beleive in getting off the oil addiction, and T. Boone Pickens wants you to change too, for $249 you can get the info on how to do it.. Bush was not responsible for the laws passed by congress during the Clinton years that made it easy for crooked people to do their thing..remember NAFTA was also passed during the Clinton years.. I don't want to get into the finger pointing, there is enough blame to go around for all the politicians on either side of he isle.

$249??? I not sure where you came up with that. He puts the facts out there and what you do with them is on you. I think hes the only one to come forward with a plan. Theres lots of different ways to impliment it. I dont think he was selling anything. Lets hear yours..
