Why are people so afraid of the word 'love'? When I say I love you, I mean just that. I love you. I love the who of you. That does not mean I want to sleep with you. It does not mean I want to bear your children. It does not mean that I want to marry you or change you or control you. It just means that I see you for the beautiful spirit you are and I love what I see reflected in you...man or woman ... no gender...no agenda ... just love. **************************************************************** Thankyou!!!! And my own two bob's worth... There is this requirement to separate, everything, compartmentalise people, behaviours, and create obligations. Love is....it just is. Whether it be with a life long partner, a friend, a flower, a sunset, what you feel, you feel. If people reduced the attachment and obligations on the word 'Love' and saw it in it's purity, rather than a sick holleywood version, there would be less anti-depressents made by pharmaceutical companies... Perspective...Love is..just that, love. |

So simple!

I have only been in love twice in my life and I have been married twice
and they were not the same two men I was in love with. I wanted to change and control the two I was married to. The two I actually loved I didn't want to change them or control them but they both had a profound inpact on me. But it was all about Freedom. When you love someone you don't want to possess them or control them but to understand them and then you seek to better understand yourself. That is what love is to me anyway...Freedom is the truth of love and the beginning of honesty. |

well I don't care how many times someone says "I love you" I'll never
bear children for them! and that's final! |
well if we're "a couple " and have been i would hopefully be feeling the
same way ,,if it's said very early in the relationship i would ask "how can you feel that deeply?" |
Ok Tom ... you will never have to bear children

Anybody can say anything. But do they show it? Are their actions
consistent with the stated sentiment? I wouldn't run for the hills, I would explore the possibility that what they were saying might have some validity. But I would remain skeptical. Because, in so many past relationship scenarios, their goal has been to see me "domesticated." And that simply is never going to happen. |

bigpappa, love is a mystery...it transforms people...I don't care if
someone only knows you for a day if they feel that reaction, they can call it love. Maybe they are just aware of their feelings. it didn't work out with the two I loved but I will never deny that it wasn't love. And I did love both of them rather quickly, even though I was young and very afraid the first time and I didn't have the courage to tell him. That was a long time ago and I still believe it was love. “The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed.” Carl Gustav Jung |

"But I would remain skeptical. Because, in so many past relationship
scenarios, their goal has been to see me "domesticated." And that simply is never going to happen. " Because you learn that real love is not about domesticating or control or possessing but it is about accepting someone and allowing them the freedom and even rejoicing in the fact that they live, act, and experience differently than you do. |
