My youngest son builds mine for me. The only problem is that he likes to upgrade it all the time...lol

I'd go to http://www.newegg.com/ personally. They usually have some really great prices on desktops, or even go to places like http://www.woot.com/ and http://www.sellout.woot.com/ They usually have some refurbished computers for cheap, and they're actually fairly decent.

The longer you wait, the better deal you're going to get, as technology continues to grow bigger, better, and faster.

just keep in mind you will have to buy your own video card for some of the games you may want to play.

If you know your way around a computer build your own, if not then buy one from someone you trust in the industry but if you don't know anyone then I wish you luck.

I like the Dell computers, my current desktop is a Dell, i have less than 600 bucks in this thing, but there are some things to consider. Gaming takes up a lot of memory, so you will want more memory. You will also want a good power supply. Those two things...are the most important. Upgraded power supply and memory. You mentioned Gaming, and a word program..go ahead with extra memory..anything less, is like a corvette with a lawn mower motor lol. My last desktop was a gateway, i had over three thousand in that thing, and this lil Dell would blow the doors off it. My advice, for anyone, is to get the best power supply, and the most memory you can, but be frugal..this is an ever changing techno world, tomorrow may bring a better system, so i wouldn't spend a ton on it, no...

I want to buy a desktop to be able to go online, type out stuff on word, and most of all, play world of warcraft. Where can I buy a cheap computer for that? I dont like Laptops, but if I have to, I'll get it.
