Share something you have in common. A coworker friend of mine is due in ten weeks. Her belly is getting quite large and she is married so sex is really out of the question. But her and another coworker all agreed that we don't like this other coworker. We had no trouble keeping the conversation going.

I think i found someone that i really connect with. What do you all say to keep the conversation going? What do you start talking about after you have asked them all the basics???

talk about the wizard of oz and alos good to talk about the elves. i like to talk about the wood elves especially What about the Wood Nymphs??? ooo YAYYYYYYYYYYY and the fairies also. and the beauty of nature...al the things t=you can discover and stuff. is it time for a picnic YET???? Yep. And I know the perfect spot for one. But it's just a wee bit cold right now....lol |

You would not believe how often the woman just winds up stammering when asked a question like that. lol so do the men ... lol I like the question though because often people think it has to be something grand. It does not ... one can be inspired by the textures of rock and bark ... I am all the time

It take's time, understaning and, patience to get to know a person. If one is good hearted, they will take the time to get to know you.
It's also a betterment for yourself to do so because, in doing so, you look more deeply into who you are.

Generally when I am trying to get someone talking the most helpful thing is listen/think and try to pick up on something they said. Asking someone to talk about something they know tends to relax people and that helps the conversation keep going.
Most people can tell you about a place they lived, a vacation, a favorite holiday, a movie or tv program they like, a teacher or boss they have had that was interesting, a pet. If you listen you can ask questions and relate similiar experiences. |
