I just had a date with an acquaintance. It was a nice evening. But there wasn't anything there. I always hate trying to end a date that wasn't horrible and wasn't great. I'm never sure exactly what to say. Thank you. It was a nice night. See you (wherever you normally see the person). It always seems a little bland.

Eh, I neglected to include the Question, how do other people handle ending the Blah dates?

I've had plenty of blah dates. I tend to smile and say thank you! It was nice meeting you. But I need to get up early for work! I don't know how believable I am but getting out of there quickly is the goal. Can someone exit quickly and politely?

Like I said, he is an acquaintance that I see fairly regularily. I figured, what can it hurt, when he asked. But I feel like I wished I said I was busy now.
I ended up having to pretty much plan everything and then carried the weight of the conversation during dinner. And there was just no real spark or connection as anything other than acquaintances. |
