Listening! ![]() Although I have to give it up for post-it-notes idea. Oh WAIT! That's the method I use to communicate with myself! (Now if only I could remember where I put that note I wrote to remind me to... ![]() |

![]() ![]() I believe communication comes in few parts. The first the willingness to listen to what the person is saying verbally, and physically. The second the willingness to talk and make sure you are understood. The third is respect for yourself and the one you are in relationship with. I guess it comes down to willingness to understand and be understood by both parties doing the commicating. |

![]() ![]() An in-home lie detector would work. I'm gonna be a big fan of that new show this year, "Lie To Me." Everybody has their "tell" when they lie...an action or posture that reveals what they are saying - no lie detector gadget required. You just have to have paid enough attention to the person to know when they are being dishonest. And BTW...if your gut says something is wrong, it probably is. Again JMO, but when I've ignored my instinct I've been wrong to do so. |

Backing up your words with actions would be a good start.

Watching the football game & pretend to listen ![]() I can't multitask: 2 things at once and one of them is "listening?" That's a rare man! |

Listening to each other and knowing that when you speak even if it isn't in agreement with what was just stated or expressed that your opinion will be heard and respected as well.
We must "agree" to "disagree" on certain things. NO TWO PEOPLE think, feel or act exactly alike....so we will NEVER TOTALLY AGREE on everything. |
