i had mine out a few years ago, and since then ive had no problems with re acurrant tonsilitus or throat infections, NOT ONE biggrin . i will admit it is painful and i was on i/v mophine and steroids after due to swelling from complications with the surgery. im still glad i had it done though.

anyone have had their tonsiles taken out?

i had an absess yesterday and spent freakin 9 hours in the ER while they drained it. now they are demanding i have my tonsiles removed and i hate surgery.. i'm gonna admit...

I'M SCARED!!!

I have mine and as far as I am concerned it will take at least 3 independent opinions before I have them removed.

so far everyone says its horribly painful but well worth it. i'm just a pansy. i have to get it done. i mean i'm sick all the damned time with tonsillitis and sinus infections. :( i've had a paratonsillar absess drained once before and the head of ENT told me i needed them removed then. then my pcp coincidentally said the same a few months ago when i went in sick again. and now.. the surgeon in the ER was like you gotta get those out.

:( i have no choice. i can't live like this anymore.

it is worth the pain to be honest. i was getting tonsilitus every month, i was pretty much on antibotics all the time. i dont regret having it done at all. if it wasnt for the complications it wouldnt have been to bad. let me know what you decide and goodluck flowerforyou flowerforyou
