who hates New years Eve?
This is one time of the year I really get depressed.I don't like to go to parties or anything on that day.I was wondering if anyone else is like that too?

I have been down in the mouth since the day after Christmas. Ah, reflections of past, looking at the current, wishing for the future ..............

I hate it too

There has been times when that was how I felt, but not anymore, as I think a body needs to be out and about with friends and family. I say that,
knowing I will be home instead of at a party, but,
that is because of my job.

A party does not mean 200 screaming people, it cn be just 2 or 3 folks enjoying each others company.

I am not good company on that day.I don't even want to be around anybody.If you knew me you would know how out of character that is for me.
I am not sure what it is about New years that does this to me .but it does!

I know what you are saying. It took me some time to realize what I was feeling, for me it means the end of what you know and the uncertainity of what's ahead. I also realized that another year was add to my age. A birthday we celebrate but really the changing of the years means adding that year to our age.

With the knowledge of this you have a choice, to worry or embrace the new year and look forward to it.

I have to force myself to get out and see whats new. So instead of being alone I try to be with friends not a large group but a small group. This way I can stop my mind from being scared of the unknown.

Maybe it's just me, but I see that as a very negative attitude, and perhaps that's the reason it bears you down so much.
Instead of fearing, we should look forward to all the new experiences, to all we can still learn, knowing that perhaps somewhere in there is that wonderful surprise waiting for us.
Always remember, our attitude gives out vibrations, and it is up to us to make them positive, so that we get positive things back in our lives.

I think you hit the nail on the head.
I usually just make sure I am in bed by eleven, that way nobody sees me crying my eyes out and I am not dragging anybody else down with my melachonic mood.

Betty, you have to take the first steps to face this and once you know what your fear is, you have to face it. Take that first step and let your friends support you. Mine do.

Talk to them, let them know your fears, you would be surprised at how they will help you get past your them. They will pick you up when you are down. Reach out, do not think you have carry this on your own.

Whats wrong with just going to bed? Why do I have to feel all jolly and happy on News year?
It is the only day of the year I am like this.

You don't have to be all jolly and happy, just treat it as another day. Put it out of your mind that it's New Years. Go to a movie, go to dinner, go shopping, visit family, do something to keep you busy. It is just another day!

Nothing wrong with just going to bed, I do it most of the time, but now thath I CAN'T go out, I really miss it.

I miss that to, I do go bed, I try to take a hour nap a day. I get up to early.

I think I will just hang out with all of you

For years I worked all holidays simply because other contractors took the time off. I was able to get into new homes and get alot done those days when I was working alone. I got so use to it that now that I do take the time off it still feels like any other day. I don't think of them like others do.
