I really loved the movie. The dog had no training apparently but the family worked through all it's flaws. It came out really good and ranks up in the top 25 of my all time favorite movies. I loved the support of each other throughout the movie too.

I really loved the movie. The dog had no training apparently but the family worked through all it's flaws. It came out really good and ranks up in the top 25 of my all time favorite movies. I loved the support of each other throughout the movie too. I agree! Loved it. Saw it with my son, who read the book and recommended it. It was great for the same reasons you mentioned! Gee, an example of a FAMILY that is actually very HEALTHY and FUNCTIONAL in the movies for a change!! Companionate love with a hint of passion between the couple. Made a very realistic mom and dad. One caution: the movie was very sad at the end, so maybe not such a good movie to see if you've had any serious losses this season. |

No way on earth I'm going to see that now.
For crying out loud, I wish I never read the thread. |

I've heard lots of great reviews, was told I should go see it, but not in the mood for a tear jerker..
Sad enough over the dead ones in the streets and lost & homeless ones in my hood, and in yours... . |

The movie was about the power of love; genuine love.

We just got back from it. We all cried....lol.
I don't usually cry at movies, but the ending...Oi Vey! The old man in front of us was even crying. There was one single woman as well who sat in the middle of the back row. She started crying about 20 minutes before the end and didn't stop. She was a LOUD crier too! For some reason, her snooty sighs and loud cry got me into a giggling fit and I was laughing and crying all at the same time. It was a little long and boring in several spots.....but overall quite good. |
