"Heavenly Light"

Wondering round in the dark
not knowing where to turn
stump a toe on the edge of the bed
cursing and yelling to no avail
to turn on the light would be so simple
but its easier to stay in the dark
simpler to not know what lurks in the shadows
hiding in fear, afraid of the light...
Pulling the blanket up to my chin
sivering and cold
tho the night is warm
ice cold fingers reaching out
embracing me through the dark
frightened and unyielding
frigid and cold
piercing straight to my soul...
exhausted and tired
finally I cry out
take away this pain...
please...
make it go away...
sins confessed,
tears rolling down,
forgiveness is free
if only you ask...
and in an instant
light shines through
warming me from the inside out
no more fear
no more fright
only bright
warm and comforting light...
