i certainly wouldn't put myself out to get something i couldn't afford if she weren't being considerate and tactful enough to not ask. |

Ok, you do NOT buy gifts for someone you hardly know! If you want to give her something, give her a home made "certificate" for a dinner, or for a date doing something SHE likes to do. Keep it (whatever the certificate is for) within YOUR price range. She has to understand you have little money and it's always the thought that is supposed to count.
