I don't see 'repeat' topics quite as often in the general as I do in the current events section. As a matter of fact, there are probably 4 Adam Walsch topics posted just today right after another. Now THAT is annoying since the topic is right there in plain site. But to me, if I see a topic I posted on the day before, then I probably will ignore it and move on to another. Exactly, no reason to be rude. Whether it is a newbie or oldie or tweenie. Depending on who has posted, I may relate to one over the other based on the "tone" and direction of the discussion. There is something for everyone. Win-Win!

I used to post on the forums all the time but have found them rather clickish...now I stop in once in awhile, sometimes just to read. And just to clarify there is a difference between being funny and being down right rude.Everyone should be able to distinguish between good natured humor and rudeness. I started out here posting a lot, but started lurking & rarely posting because the site started to feel like the Jr. High Cafeteria. I wasn't even trying to sit at the cheerleaders table but they were throwing things across the room! Of course the hall moniter sitting with them never saw this. The site may be growing,(like the Hotel California) but I notice the forums are not. Lex hit on a good reason, new people are not given a chance to settle in. The membership numbers don't go backwards. "you can check out (deactivate) any time you like,but you can never leave!"

As someone who cares about this site, I realize that the best-case scenario is for the site to continue to grow. The more members we have, the more options people have for meeting someone. If there's no one in your area on the site right now, there may be in a month or two. Growth is the thing. But if new people are routinely mistreated and pushed around, then a.) they're not going to stay, and b.) they're not going to recommend the site to other people. I understand the whole thing about people getting comfortable in a situation. I mean, I'm very comfortable here. I think that's obvious. But that's not something I feel I have to defend or protect -- rather, it's something I want to share with others. I'd like everybody to be as comfortable here as I am. It's not MY site, it's not YOUR site -- it's OUR site. OUR in the largest of possible meanings.
