My host backs up my site automatically, so I don't have to worry about that (unless my site gets over 5GB big), although I did back up everything recently when I did the conversion and upgrade. I made a test site first to make sure everything was going to go smooth. I upgraded to the latest version of MKPortal, and I switched from AEForums to SMF.

I'm using SMF 1.1.10. I think that's the lastest stable release. It's the one compatible with MKP 1.2.2. So far everything seems to be going great.

It is. Slowly though, but it's working. LOL I've only had the site up for a few monthes, not promoting it yet. Right now I'm averaging about one or two new members every other day. I'm not sure if they are real or spam bots yet. LOL

Once I start promoting, I'm sure that will pick up, and hopefully I'll get a decent amount of active members. I'll be doing mostly online promoting, but I have some ideas for RL promoting as well.

The have a Mod that Keeps the Spammer and Robots from Registering with your site. It works decent... They also have a Mod that Shows you when the google spider and other spiders are on your site.
