I have emailed people on different sites. Sometimes they respond back, sometimes they don't.

I know I'm guilty of doing the same thing....sometimes...but usually I reply back.


But my main problem is what to say in them.

I try to say just HI..but I know people want more than that.

HELP!!!

ask them about something on their profile, or tell them something about what's happening in your area.

there's nothing going in my area....I live in a town of about 900....(counting the people out in the country).....

mentioning something thats in their profile sounds good...but I don't want to sound desperate......

Hello!!! What do you talk about with your friends? What common interests did you mentally note between his profile and yours, or what did you just find interesting? Did you notice something striking about his stance in that photo? Some people are going to be rude and probably due to their overly inflated egos or shyness. Believe in yourself and it will come, just know you will eventually find the one.

well, you have to stick out your neck to a certain degree, and it's what we do. if one considers that desperate, it's pretty defensive, and they're not worth your time, for they are here to at least talk to people. stay on the forums, and you'll get stronger, and it'll seem more even when you speak, instead of looking up for their acceptance, for they aren't any better than anyone else, no matter what they might believe.

your not alone, I have found some are much easer to write to, others ( like the one I wrote to last night ) have very little in there profile and makes it hard to make conversation

mmhh I usually don't initiate the first e-mail..
I have like 3 times maybe..the guy was just smoking hot..and I had to get his attention..
But when I did I was just honest..and told them that I usually don't initate the first e-mail, but their profile just caught my eye..and then I will say something very random..if their profile is packed w/ info, which usually with guys it isn't but I will just pick something out of their profiles that I can relate to..mostly music..
If not I will make a "shallow" comment about a bodyfeature I am attracted to..abs, butt, eyes...
All 3 guys have wrote back..so I guess I did ok..

I ask them how they feel about Gun control. Yeah, let's get controversial on the first email baby.

Just ask them how they are doing, that you saw their profile and like what was in it. Be yourself. Pretend you are talking to a friend. It's easy to do that!!

What I hate about it is when the other person jus types one word back to you: like I might say hey how ya doin tonight...they say fine and thats it. Some people don't make an effort at tryin to get a conversation started.
