Not where I live. We have to pay enrollment fees, book fees.........sport fees....... And school supplies!!!!! you can get away with few school supplies when you home school. I don't home school...but my cousin home schools her kids. Wow!! I've never heard of a public school doing that before. The home schooled children in my area pay to go the Y for sports activities and that's expensive. My kids go to public school. We pay fees for everything. I just payed 45 dollars for a 5th grader to play basketball. That doesn't include all the uniform stuff. We pay a small fee at the start of the school year in addition to all the supplies etc. It's definitely not free, but then not as expensive as private school either. All sports now involve some sort of fee....ranging from the 45 bucks up to a couple hundred bucks to play one sport in high school. |

My child goes to a Christian school. I have to pay $75 for each sport and that included uniforms - which I return. |

I know for the fact I LIVE IN Arkansas... that Arkansas public schools do not charge fees. I went to Arkansas schools...lol. You pay for lunches unless you're too broke then you can get them for free. No book fees... of course you pay to play sports but every school does that. I've even seen them help kids who couldn't afford the sports fees by raising the money or asking more well off families to donate to help.
Besides, I don't think her husband would allow her to have time to herself anyway... he wouldn't want her to get the chance to think her own thoughts. |
