What I'm trying to express is that while I don't believe life in itself is without meaning, I believe the meaning can only be experienced in a way that cannot be expressed in words. The meaning is the stirring we feel inside of us as we consider the question.

I guess I could liken it to a poem that appears meaningless yet moves us anyway. I have no way of knowing if the experience is the same from individual to individual, but I suspect it is, if they are open to it.

This is a personal viewpoint and I'd be the first to agree that it is completely irrational. That's actually my point. :)

Does life require a meaning to be? People can give meaning and purpose to their lives but it's not required I would think. People all over the world exist with seemingly no meaning to their lives what-so-ever.
Hopefully life does have some great meaning that no one has yet discovered, I hope it does, but I don't think it's necessary.

Now, if were are talking about religion and life's meaning, I'm leaving the room. Last time I got in one of those debates my brain almost exploded.

until someone goes through life/dies and then comes back to life to tell us what lies after death and what the meaning of life is then we will never know. I just think life is what you make of it. whether you want to be a party animal or just eat junk food is all up to u.

well for the fact that i really have no religious or spiritual beliefs, death to me would be not breathing, having no pulse and then them burying me 6 foot underground

The meaning of life it depends on how you ask it, as a individual question or a human question.

As human our meaning of life is to survive (procreate) as a species and we have done that so well that we are now on the opposite to surviving, our success in surviving will be what will kills us (humanity) in the end.

As individuals the question it is up to each to answer it since it is a personal quest and will vary from person to person.

Nihilism, Dadaism, nonsense and nothingness, I think these that a person may come to after too much information, meaning, or chaos. I'm not sure what I think, except I have meaningful moments that are precious to me.

Frpm this day forward life has a new meaning and purpose.
