To take up space on the planet, then die about 70-80 years later, earlier if you're lucky. Later, if you want to make the American Medical Association members richer.

We are born to die.

At conception we begin a journey to the grave.

From the time we are born, until death, we are subjects to some form of world government. We are in affect, born to be a slave to the taxation of the ruling class. Even the ruling class is a slave to itself.

We are like drones, workers, none of us free, everyone of us tied to submit to some government.

A free man walks the Earth with no imaginary geographical boundaries. There is no place on Earth where there are not border lines and country borders, so humans imagine these places into existence, then tax the people in order to form armies to protect the imaginary lines drawn in imaginary places.

People are willing to die for an imaginary geographical boundary.

Peace will never be accomplished in the nature of a human race that lives on a single planet with diverse imaginary geographical boundaries.

Life is a vapor that passes so quickly that except for a few random memories, humans would not even notice it passing.

Meaning?

The answer is there is no meaning. Babies are born, and the world system stands as a major league catcher, slapping its hand in it's mitt, waiting for the embryo to pop out of the womb like a speeding fast ball. Then rushes the now grown fetus to some speedy earthly existence of slavery to the system and the government.

No one is born truly free.

The answer is, there is no meaning.

I think the goal of life is to survive. Not just in the black-and-white sense of living or dying, but also in a relative/gradient sense where the measure of survival is the ratio of pleasure to pain.

But that's just the goal, it's not the reason behind the goal. It's not the meaning behind why we want to survive.

My belief is that life is essentially a game.

Like any other game, the basic reason for playing it is for something to do.

So the meaning of life would be simply to have something to do.

happy

The meaning of life is for each individual different. Only you will know what best suits your description.

In any case I wish everyone a meaningful life full of happiness and laughter:smile:

personally I believe life is a school for the soul, and gives us a chance to perfect ourselves mentally emotionally and spiritually.

The meaning of life is simple. To reproduce.

Does that mean that life to me simply is reproduction: no.

People try to find overarching meanings to existence, but that is not the same as the meaning to life.

Also you must distinguish between why life, and whats life good for.

As far as why life. To reproduce is really all that is needed. Reproduction allows for variation. There can be no building of complex machinery without reproduction with variation.

As far as what life is good for, well that comes down to personal experience.

If you are wondering if there is a reason for life to exist at all from a frame of reference beyond that of living systems then sadly you are out of luck.

Religions have been trying to pretend they have these answers for thousands of years, but have yet to produce anything with it that isn't divisive.

Good and simple answer. To what is essentially a simple question. We humans make it a difficult.

Hmmmm......
I won't say that I disagree with that. But I do say that I would call reproduction the "purpose of life". I was taking "meaning" to be the "why" as in "why is there life at all?", not "what is the most fundamental driving principle of life". And then of course there is the difference of opinion as to what exactly "life" is. laugh

Sure, and in my post I listed that I do not believe in any overarching meanings of life.

I think trying to apply a universal meaning to life is absurd unless we where created for a reason, then that reason would be the meaning of life insofar as the creator is important in the creation after said creation.

I do not accept special creation so there for I do not accept any overarching meanings to life in the context in which you meant it.

So the only rational meaning to life, are the functions that only life can achieve.

To continually ask: what is the meaning to life? :) Seriously tho, no-one can answer until it is KNOWN. However.... I do have my own conspiracy theory.

"To be or not to be. That is the question."

To exist and have our existence acknowledged is the purpose and meaning of life.

The meaning of life is not "discovered", it is "decided". We must decide for oursleves what the meaning is, otherwise, it's someone else's meaning, not our own.

To love and be loved. Everything else follows from that good energy. Beats the karmic soul debt that bestowing negativity would reap! It's just cooler to be nice. flowerforyou

I guess my life has no meaning then.
I decided not to reproduce.

Our masters want us to reproduce so they can have more slaves for the empire.

Yep that's what you are. Slaves for the evil empire. huh
